GOP Hypocrisy
Ted Cruz Humiliates Himself (Again) and Suggests He Will Burn John Boehner’s New Book
There’s never been much love between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and former House Speaker John Boehner, but when Cruz dissed Boehner’s new memoir on Twitter he soon found himself charbroiled. As in burnt to a crisp. Most expressed frustration over Cruz not doing the job he was elected to do and chided him for not sticking with it.
Boehner has also made his dislike of Cruz more than plain, having in the past called him “Lucifer in the flesh” and a “miserable son of a b*tch” and ripped him a new one over his legislative record in the audiobook version of his book On The House: A Washington Memoir.”
“PS, Ted Cruz — go f*ck yourself,” Boehner says in the reading.
But Cruz, who abandoned his constituents in the middle of a once-in-a-century storm (because that’s the kind of guy he is), says he is proud of Boehner’s “drunken, bloviated scorn” and joked in another tweet that he planned to burn the copy of the memoir someone sent him.
“Some smart-ass dropped off a copy of Boehner’s new book at my office. It’s even signed!” Cruz wrote. “I filed it in the appropriate place.”

You sure you want to burn that? You might want some reading materials for the next time you ditch Texas. pic.twitter.com/k1AjZ5b3WP

They don't even check their voice mail.
Seriously. It's always full. I hardly ever get to actually leave a message for my own damned senators.

I am one of Ted’s constituents. I can not think of one thing that he has done for the Great State of Texas other than being an absolute embarrassment!

Texas is literally paying this dink to troll Twitter all day. Maybe if he had that book in the fireplace when their house was too cold for his spoiled kids they could have all skipped the family vacation on your dime. Good job, Texas. https://t.co/9iPVGbT1lf

Oh, good! You posted a picture of the former Congressman's book. I was wondering what it looked like. Now get to work producing some actual work for Texans, and not just scorn and mockery for others.

If progressives feel a lot of animosity for Cruz it’s for good reason. He abandoned his own constituents during a storm that led to at least 111 people losing their lives. And when politicians do things like this, their constituents tend to not look upon them fondly. Cruz is also against voting rights legislation that makes it easier for the poor and disenfranchised to vote and is also virulently anti-immigrant. And he’s no fan of gun control, having recently said after the tragedy in Boulder, Colorado that gun regulations won’t stop anything. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Cruz received more than $749,000 from gun rights PACS and individuals who have donated $200 or more between 1989 and March 22, 2021.
Perhaps Boehner understands what a hypocrite Cruz is. Quite obviously folks on Twitter also understand this quite well.
