Minnesota Trump Supporter Pleads Guilty in Attack on Elderly Couple Over Biden Sign

This is where the country stands. One would love to think of this type of crime, violently chasing an elderly couple over nothing but a Biden sign as some sort of bizarre isolated random incident.  Because it was not a verbal fight. This fight involved a weapon, one that could be fatal in the manner he threatened to use it. All over a Biden sign? And yet it was not some random, isolated incident.

Though this incident is more serious than most, we report almost daily on something like this. How many do we miss? This is not isolated, it is not random, it is getting normalized.

According to Minnesota Channel 4 (and hat tip to Rawstory for the find and video at the link):

Mark Anthony Ulsaker took a plea deal, dropping the second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and assaulting a peace officer charge against him. He instead is guilty of two counts of making threats of violence.

On Nov. 8, 2020, Ulsaker allegedly stopped his pickup truck at a street corner in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where the couple stood with the Biden sign and swore at them. After parking his truck, he ran at the couple with a golf club.

He then kicked over the signs and swung at the couple with the club, breaking it over the woman’s chair, then punching the man when he tried to defend his wife. When he tried to flee in his truck, he was pursued by the woman, who he tried to scare by driving his truck up on the curb.

Punching a man is not a threat of violence. We don’t know how the plea deal came about but in these situations, it is likely best to simply trust that the prosecutor had a reason. One wonders, though. This country is so polarized that if there is some sort of “side” to these things if the result is… We will simply go with trusting that the prosecutor had a reason.

Despite the plea deal sounding far more innocuous, this reads as incredibly disturbing. It gets horrifying when realizing things like this happen daily.
