Tomi Lahren Goes Nuts Over Federal Covid Rules — The Rules That Started Under Trump

Tomi Lahren launched into another screechy rant, this time in an appearance on the Fox News program Outnumbered, where she complained about President Joe Biden’s comment that he’d seen little evidence that last Friday’s disappointing jobs report was the result of government assistance keeping people from going back to work.

Kayleigh McEnany, former mouthpiece (er White House Press Secretary) for ex-President Donald Trump, introduced the segment by airing a clip of Biden discussing the labor market resurgence as the post-COVID economy recovers, Mediaite reports.

“We will make it clear that anyone collecting unemployment who was offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits,” Biden said, adding “I know there’s not a lot of discussion since Friday’s report that people are being paid to stay home rather than go to work. We don’t see much of that.”

That led McEnany to ask Lahren “what is a ‘suitable job,’ and how will he ensure that these individuals take these jobs?”

That spurred Lahren’s screechy rant, where she omitted one key fact that’s rather…glaring.

“His words do not match his policies,” Lahren said, then decried the so-called big government. “Let’s think about this: The government created this problem. They shut down businesses, made people feel selfish for exercising their rights, told people they couldn’t go to work because it was in the interest of health and safety. Then they started sending checks to people getting them more reliant on the government.”

I’m going to point out that while Lahren has a B.A. in broadcast journalism and political science, it doesn’t necessarily mean she has good common sense. Nor does she seem to have a good memory. Because if she did, she’d remember that the policies she’s so outraged over (which were created to help save thousands of lives) were implemented by the Trump administration.

The lockdowns began under Trump, along with the government-funded stimulus assistance (which happened twice under Trump.) But Lahren, being the huge Trump supporter that she is, somehow fails to remember who’s truly responsible for what’s going on right now.

For someone who’s supposedly studied political science, Lahren seems quite ignorant. Of course, if you’ve ever watched her in action, you’re probably not surprised by this.
