Melania is Trending Number One on Twitter and It’s All Because of What Her Husband Said to Newsmax

It is likely that many people have already seen or read about Trump’s non-answer to Newsmax about how Melania’s doing and what she’s been up to. It is the “she’s really low key, but not really low key” answer and we’ll link the video and print some of the answer below. Suffice it to say, those crazy young love birds Don and Mel might be going through a bit of a spat, what with not being seen with each other and all. She was even nowhere to be found on his 75th birthday, which we hear is a big one.

Timeout momentarily to suck in the delicious irony. The Focus on the Family Christian Right absolutely loves Melania, loves her, and her beaux, Don-Don. This, despite the fact that, for all appearances, Don and Mel cannot stand each other’s presence, but do love what the other gives them. Meanwhile, Joe and Jilly-bean are almost embarrassingly in love, goofy in love, “let’s go to the dance” in love. Admittedly, half of America feels the same about Jill.

Back to Trump and Melania. Newsmax asked Don a simple question, something along the lines of “How’s Mel?” They must have regretted it because Don went on a long, indecipherable grunt that included all things Mel except how she was doing and what she was doing:

“She is a very outstanding person and the people get it,” Trump said. “You know, she’d do those decorations at Christmastime. She’d do such a good job and then get hammered. She did such a beautiful job around the White House and with the Rose Garden, she rebuilt the Rose Garden, which was really a much more difficult that it sounds, and it’s now good for another 50 years, that included all of the wires and all of the everything under the Rose Garden that nobody sees. But it looks like the dashboard of a Boeing 757. It’s complicated stuff, and she did a great job, and the people — I can only tell you the people get it, and they really like our first lady.”

She got hammered because she hammered herself. All red and white Christmas decorations? “Fock Christmas”? And, a 757 dashboard has more color, beauty, and natural earthy feel than the current one. Additionally, one doesn’t replace the dashboard of a perfectly working 757 anyway.

Regardless, the non-comment from the non-love husband got Twitter all worked up to the point that Melania, unbelievably was trending at number one on a Saturday for a comment made Friday.
