Twitter Rolls in Laughter Over Joy Behar’s Face Upon Hearing McCain’s Leaving Show: ‘Behar Don’t Lie’

As we reported yesterday, Meghan McCain is leaving The View.

It is actually important news because it impacts an incredibly powerful and unique show. To be sure, women are far better represented in the political commentary ecosystem than as few as ten years ago. But The View is unique. The hosts are exclusively women and they provide a needed analysis of the entire spectrum of current events exclusively from women’s “views.” The show creators designed it to do just that.

The show is one of the most politically powerful on television. Any change would be important. Changing the most conservative voice, the one that is often the rudest, the voice that owes its presence to her birth (every other host had established careers when recruited), and the one that most often picks fights with the others, is a massive change, so massive, some couldn’t hide their reaction.

Meghan made the surprise announcement on Friday:

“I wish nothing but continued success and good wishes and good luck to all of you and to this show, and I’m just eternally grateful to have had this opportunity here. So seriously, thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart, and I will still be here another month, so if you guys want to fight a little bit more, we have four more weeks.”

The announcement is here, Twitter reactions below:

Three of the other four hosts laughed and appeared to enjoy one of the few warm moments one will see involving Meghan McCain. But Joy Behar must have had too much joy running through her head, or was still shaken up by things McCain had said in the past to enjoy the light-hearted moment.  Twitter loved it:

Precisely.
