We should be very clear about this. The United States is not evacuating Afghanis who simply want to come to the United States. The United States is evacuating the Afghanis who risked their lives to help the United States versus the Taliban. How many here reading this have risked their lives for the United States? Not this writer, probably not brave enough and for that reason, everyone who has risked their lives should get our internal gratitude. That includes the Afghanis that helped the U.S. with information. translating, guidance, and even more dangerous endeavors, all based on a promise of a better life.

A “better life” means a life unthreatened by the Taliban’s horrific 7th Century strict interpretation. Interestingly, this “strict interpretation” is a relatively one thing. Many people are surprised to learn that back in the 400-500 years after Mohammed, from the years 800 to 1300, there is no question that the Muslim Arab world was the center of science, technology (Arabic numerals and the concept of “zero,” algebra, look at the names of half the stars in the sky). Muslims freed from strict religious constraints come from a culture that the will benefit the United States in ways we’ve yet to imagine.

And yet U.S. MAGA Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance is worried that these same people who risked their lives to help the United States over the Taliban will bring bombs to a mall if you look at the wives wrong. That is a direct quote. Vance wants these people “properly vetted,” and Americans out first. The problem is if we get all Americans out first, how do these Afghans get out of the country alive? And second, to the extent that any “vetting” is needed (Do we vet Canadians?) can’t it be done from the safety of a U.S. military base outside Afghanistan and the United States, or does Vance simply want to let his xenophobic freak flag fly?

We think we know the answer:
