Trump Supporter John ‘Bo Duke’ Schneider, Lost the General Lee in Hurricane Ida and is Asking for Help: UPDATED
This article was written and published yesterday, prior to John Schnieder’s comments on Fox News this morning in which he said they don’t need the federal government and wished Biden would stay away. We will have a new article on his new comments up soon.
If you are a guy who is about the age of 50-55, nearly every one of us will say that one of our favorite “shows” was The Dukes of Hazard. (Kids? “Shows” were things on television. A “television” is that big movie screen thing your parents have, they occasionally sit and watch sports. “Shows” were kinda like little movies. We thought it was fun because we had electricity.). We liked Dukes of Hazard because we didn’t know better and Daisy Duke stirred the awakening the first feelings of “something” (Much like Princess Leia when entrapped by Jaba), and because “Roscoe P. Coletrain” never did get the boys.
John Schneider played Bo Duke and was one of the most well-known “television” actors at the time. Sadly, Schneider’s home and studios were caught dead center in Ida and a tree fell on “the General Lee.” (Yes, now it feels like justice, but we’re nostalgic here).
John Schneider Studios is located about 74 miles northwest of New Orleans. The property has been affected by severe storms before, and was damaged in 2016 when a catastrophic flood devastated Louisiana. Schneider expressed amazement, though, as he surveyed the damages from Ida. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” the actor said in another Facebook post.
Those of us who experienced the eye-wall of Katrina just 65 miles inland can relate. There truly is nothing like it. Now, Schneider always seemed like a good guy and he’s in need of help, but he’s not looking for a handout, just some business:

Schneider, 61, is asking fans to help with recovery efforts at the property by buying merchandise from the John Schneider Studios website or renting movies via a link posted there. The website appeared to be having technical difficulties on Wednesday afternoon, however, and one of the links, to the merchandise store, wasn’t working due a misspelling in the web address. (This appears to be the correct link for merchandise.)
Again, his heart is in the right place, he wants donations to go to those in far more need than him. He asked only for a bit of business, but made the priorities clear:
Schneider encouraged people who need help to ask for it, and urged everyone to support relief efforts for those impacted by the storms. The United Way of Southeast Louisiana and the American Red Cross are among the organizations with Hurricane Ida relief funds.
We agree entirely and thus wrote this up.
