McCarthy Says He’ll Put Gosar and MTG Back on Committees if GOP Wins Majority, ‘Maybe Better Committees!’

In a press conference on Wednesday, Kevin McCarthy answered questions about the possibilities that could ensue if house republicans win back their majority in the 2022 elections. Of everything he discussed, the most pressing was his promise that if the House is once again ruled by the GOP, both Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar will once again be allowed to serve on committees.

Back in February, the house voted to remove Greene from all committees due to her support of far-right propaganda and conspiracy theories on social media, including calls to vi0lence.

On Wednesday, Paul Gosar faced the same fate after a vote to remove him passed in response to a tweet he sent out of an animated video in which he was seen k*lling a democratic colleague.

Kevin McCarthy’s statements are not standalone, and seem to be consistent across the board, meaning that if victorious both Greene and Gosar will most likely be reinstated on committees. In an interview with Insider, Greene said, “I have been told by Kevin McCarthy… of course I’ll get committee assignments back.”

In her interview, Greene also follows up by saying that she will get “better” committee assignments than she had before, and that there is no reason why she should not. Apparently, she believes that she should not be punished for harassing school sh00ting survivors, pushing election fraud lies, or generally trying to incite mass hysteria among far right extremists.

In the coming year, Americans could be looking at a totally different political landscape if Republicans win control of the chamber in the mid-term elections. Hopefully, voters will take into consideration what kind of politicians they want representing them and serving on committees that make decisions that could very well influence their every day lives.
