Newsmax Goes All-In for Putin: Says Post-Trump, Vlad is the ‘Master of the World’

As this site has written multiple times, Russia has elections and laws, and courts, all that cool stuff. They are just worthless AF.  Putin changed the constitution such that he can be president for life and does remarkably well in presidential elections, capturing 75% of the vote in 2018.

Russia gave the runner-up just enough votes for it to look semi-legitimate. It is not, the vote is rigged up pretty well and, to be fair, as of right now, Putin remains fairly popular. Good thing because dictatorships become very problematic for the dictator should things turn south. They tend to lose their life and their stuff, in that order.

Look at the voting laws being passed in all these “purple states” – Georgia, Arizona, Florida, and one sees a pattern. It is becoming increasingly hard to vote. They have extremely partisan Secretaries of State, Arizona even made a run at a law allowing the legislature to overturn any election it determined was likely illegitimate. Imagine that in place in 2020. (It is not law… yet)

Since 1992, the GOP candidate for president has only received the majority of the votes for president once. The Electoral College is the GOP’s best friend. In the Senate, the Democrats represent 70 million more people than the GOP. The Senate is tied (but for VP) and has that filibuster. Purple states have super majorities of Republican statehouses because of gerrymandering beyond recognition, see Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona, as a start.

In other words, the GOP has perfected minority rule and still can’t guarantee wins, but they now seek to lock it in. Look at the SCOTUS and how it got to be the way it did. Mitch McConnell.

So, we have the Electoral College that allows Republicans to serve as every other president despite getting fewer votes. In just about every election, the Democrats get more total votes for both the House and Senate than the Republicans but regularly lose control, and the SCOTUS has been stolen.

A gigantic part of this mess could be remedied by actual democracy. Get rid of the filibuster in the Senate and allow everyone to vote. The problem is gone, or a lot of it, anyway. Republicans know it. Manchin and Semina know it, which is why money is thrown at them from every direction.

Thus it is that the MAGAs and most of the GOP, too, would prefer to be more like Russia, a country that has elections, that basically don’t mean anything except token victories, enough to say we’re still a “Constitutional Republic” when we are no more so than Russia.

And that, is what explains all those Republican Senators visiting Russia in 2018, it is why Trump was not allowed to cross Putin (for this is Putin’s plan, too) and this:

So, next time you think about the GOP, just think Russia. Oh! And it’s probably worth mentioning, there isn’t much immigration into Russia… maybe none, of any significance. It is a very white nation and quite dangerous for minorities and even LGTBQ Russians.

It is no wonder the MAGAs are enthralled with Russia, a dream nation. What they wouldn’t give to have Trump installed as president, basically for life.

Only one problem. There is no second Amendment in Russia, kinda the opposite.
