If ‘Donald Feels it’s Necessary, He Will Stop Protecting Ivanka,’ Warns Mary Trump

One of the lesser-known members of the Trump family is Mary Trump, the former president’s niece, because she is an active critic of her uncle, and in a recent interview with MSNBC she said that Donald will only think about protecting himself when it comes to the investigation into the January 6 Capitol riots.

She specifically mentioned Ivanka, who is now being asked to answer some questions for the House Select Committee investigating the insurrection, and according to Mary, “She’s in a very bad situation, because she must understand that if Donald feels it’s necessary, he will stop protecting her.” Ivanka’s cousin noted that she could have extremely relevant information about the days leading up to January 6th, especially because she was working as a senior adviser in the White House at the time.

Trump’s daughter was sent a letter on Thursday where the Committee asked her to come in for an interview voluntarily. Trump responded predictably by saying that “it’s a very unfair situation for my children. It’s a disgrace, what’s going on.” Yet, according to Mary, he is not worried about the health or well-being of his family but is instead afraid of the consequences for himself if Ivanka were to testify and reveal information that could be very bad for him.

Mary’s response to her uncle’s statement was this: “The whole ‘she should be protected because she’s his child’ is absurd.” During the interview, she also said no when she was asked “You don’t think there’s any chance that he [Donald Trump] would step forward and say ‘OK, I’m going to take the heat in an effort to shield my kids?”
