The Governor of WV Bizarrely Showed Off His Dog’s Butthole While Fighting With Bette Midler

Nothing quite says “idiot” the way that anti-LGBTQ+ governor Jim Justice (R-Va.) lastest gesture does. On Friday, he took a swipe at Bette Midler, telling her to “kiss [his dog’s ] hiney.” To further make his point, he even brandished his English bulldog’s backside, pointing it at the camera while making his point, Queerty reports.

Justice seems to have saved these remarks for a special occasion — his State of the State address Thursday. He was upset at Midler’s criticism of West Virginia’s Sen. Joe Manchin, who refuses to support President Joe Biden’s Build Back America Act. Of course, Manchin is a DINO but it’s bizarre that he keeps opposing this because it would pour billions of dollars into the state’s economy.

So what did Midler do that got Justice all bent out of shape?

She characterized people in West Virginia as “poor, illiterate, and strung-out” and in dire need of the benefits of Biden’s proposed measure. That led Justice to pull this cute stunt:

Justice, 70, referred to Midler by name as he concluded his speech, and waved Babydog’s butt for the cameras, according to the Associated Press.

“Babydog, for her part, looked really confused as to why her owner was showing her ass to the world,” writes David Reddish, for Queerty.

But this isn’t the first time Justice has acted like an idiot in front of the cameras. Last year, in an interview with MSNBC went sideways when he tried to defend a new law that barred transgender middle and high school students from sports competitions. Stephanie Ruhle, who hosts the program Live With Stephanie Ruhle, asked him to provide an example of a trans student trying to gender identity to give them an advantage in sports, and of course, Justice couldn’t name anyone. He was also at a loss for words to explain why he had prioritized this bill in a state that has virtually tanked, ranking 45th in education, 47th in healthcare, 48th on the economy, and 50th in infrastructure, Reddish notes.

It took a while for Middler to respond, but when she did, she was on point:

And Twitter had fun.
