Sources: Putin’s Girlfriend Alina and Their Children Go Into Hiding in Luxury Chalet in Switzerland

Sources have told the New York Post‘s Page Six that Russian President Vladimir Putin is hiding his mistress Alina Kabaeva and their four children at a chalet in Switzerland.

The 38-year-old Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast apparently has two young sons and twin daughters with the Russian leader, although the knowledge has yet to be publicly confirmed. It is difficult to imagine the circumstances under which a president of any country would confirm that they were having an affair, let alone one involving children.

From Page Six:

While Putin carries out his assault on the Ukraine, attacking innocent citizens and causing a refugee crisis, his family is holed up in a very private and very secure chalet somewhere in Switzerland — for now, at least.

Using the term “THE” Ukraine is a common misnomer. The country is called Ukraine, and only those who support Russia’s claim to the land they once held as a republic still refer to it as an area rather than its own sovereign nation.

Putin has two adult daughters, barely younger than his current mistress, with his first wife Lyudmila Shkrebneva.

He has notoriously shielded himself and his family from any kind of public scrutiny:

I have a private life in which I do not permit interference. It must be respected. I have always reacted negatively to those who with their snotty noses and erotic fantasies prowl into others’ lives.

In fact, the newspaper that reported in 2008 that he had divorced his wife — the mother of his 35 and 36-year-old adult daughters — and was set to marry Kabaeva was shut down after an official denial from the Kremlin that their story was true.

The normally politically neutral Switzerland has actually taken an anti-Russia stance regarding the conflict in Ukraine right now. It is not known how sanctions that Switzerland is honoring will affect the Russian president’s mistress and children, who all reportedly hold Swiss passports.
