GOP Hypocrisy
Fox News Used a Deceitfully Edited Clip of Biden During Obama’s WH Visit to Try to Embarrass Him
Barack Obama visited the White House Tuesday and it’s the first time he’s been there since Donald Trump was inaugurated in 2017. Both men appeared to be in a jovial mood but Fox News hosts used the occasion to do some fancy editing on a video clip.
Obama was there to mark the 12th anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act — and to crack a few jokes with his former Vice President, Uproxx reports.
“I heard some changes have been made by the current president since I was last here,” he said. “Apparently Secret Service have to wear aviator glasses now. The Navy mess has been replaced by a Baskin Robbins. And there’s a cat running around. I guarantee Bo and Sunny would have been very unhappy about.”
Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson and the Republican National Committee-backed RNC Research Twitter account found this to be the perfect time to share footage from Obama’s visit — as a way to smear Biden. Because of course. Because Fox News.
In a tweet, the RNC posted “Literally no one wants to talk to Joe Biden,” and Carlson, for his part, called him “the most unpopular person in virtually any room he enters. If you doubt it, watch this,” he said on Tuesday night’s edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight.

The clip above makes Biden look like he’s doing that confused John Travolta/Pulp Fiction looking from side to side and holding his hands out. But as Aaron Rupar, who shared the full footage on Twitter, explains “Biden wasn’t wandering around with nobody to talk to — he was shaking hands and making introductions.”
Here’s the full (and accurate) clip below.
You’ll be shocked to learn that this RNC clip from an account that blocked me for calling them out on their lies is egregiously out of context https://t.co/WYSPGkI8PT pic.twitter.com/4jUSXPQfiQ

Rupar added:
“These aren’t randos on the fringes of social media — this is an official Republican Party organ collaborating with two of the top-rated cable news hosts in the country to make stuff up. That they’re willing to lie and fabricating so shamelessly about relatively small things speaks volumes about how the political movement they represent is bad faith all the way down.”
Indeed, Fox News seems to have some trust issues, and Media Bias/Fact Check notes the cable news channel has failed a significant number of fact checks. So that means Fox News continues to be unfair and unbalanced.
