Franklin Graham Blames Movies and Television and the ‘Entertainment Industry’ for Texas Massacre

Franklin Graham joins everyone else on the Right, who virtually have a playbook on how to respond to mass shootings. Of course, Graham blamed that part of society that he says is responsible for just about everything wrong with the country.

Now the death toll has risen to 19 children killed and two teachers in the senseless rampage of hate at Robb Elementary School yesterday. Many others were injured. We are seeing more and more violence displayed across our nation.

One day this country is going to have to come to grips with an entertainment industry that feeds a constant stream of violence to our youth. Contrary to what some want America to believe, it isn’t the guns.

You can put all the guns in a pile in Central Park and not a single gun will kill anyone. It takes a human being to plan and execute such brutality.

Only the power of God can cleanse the human heart and transform it. He is the missing element in so many homes and our schools and communities.

I have been to Uvalde and it is a wonderful community. Please continue to pray for all of the grieving families and this devastated city.

Franklin Graham seems to think these children and teachers are dead because teenage boys like to play Call of Duty and people like to watch The Shield.

One can sense that most people would be open to the possibility that perhaps the shooter games that are absolutely ubiquitous may constitute a tiny fraction of the big picture problem. Of course, any concern is nothing as compared to the far more obvious and direct causes. It is very typical of Right-Wing politicians to blame something that their voters and followers already believe is harmful. It gives those voters the cover needed to not think too hard about the real cause, the fact that this country is the only country drowning in fcking guns and the assault rifles in particular.

I don’t think even we on the left appreciate just how insane we look to the rest of the world as they say, “I knew they could buy guns, but they can buy those type of guns, too? Madness! What is wrong with them?”
