This is why the New York Times called Tucker Carlson perhaps the most openly racist television host in our era and it has helped him to “conquer cable.” Yes, white fear sells. In a recent NYT deep dive, the Times noted:

Mr. Carlson has constructed what may be the most racist show in the history of cable news — and also, by some measures, the most successful. Though he frequently declares himself an enemy of prejudice — “We don’t judge them by group, and we don’t judge them on their race,” Mr. Carlson explained to an interviewer a few weeks before accusing impoverished immigrants of making America dirty — his show teaches loathing and fear.

Night after night, hour by hour, Mr. Carlson warns his viewers that they inhabit a civilization under siege — by violent Black Lives Matter protesters in American cities, by diseased migrants from south of the border, by refugees importing alien cultures, and by tech companies and cultural elites who will silence them, or label them racist, if they complain

We have the perfect example below. If anyone heard Karine Jean-Pierre take questions and answer them in the last two years, and many of us have, one would know that Karine is uniquely talented. She has a powerful intellect and an amazing ability to communicate her views and what she sees happening around her. It is obvious why the White House hired her.

It is equally obvious to Tucker, who starts with the assumption that if the job doesn’t go to a white man, it cannot possibly be because there was a better candidate available. Below are Tucker’s exact racist words:

Karine Jean-Pierre is our first out LGBTQ+ White House Press Secretary and that’s all you need to know. It’s a good thing, shut up and celebrate. That’s why she got the job.

She’s in the right group and so the Biden administration, which thinks exclusively in terms of groups and never in terms of individuals because individuals are messy and inconvenient, the group is all that matters.

This is exactly how they pick Supreme Court justices or vice presidents or members of the Federal Reserve Board. And now, the all-important press secretary gig has gone to someone on the basis of group.

It’s really simple, show us your picture and we’ll tell you if you’re qualified for the job. And in many ways, Karine Jean-Pierre is perfect for the job.

Not only is she a member of the out LGBTQ+ community, she’s also, critically, the product of a private school and an Ivy League college and yet still oppressed somehow.

She is furious at America despite her ample privilege and enraged by its racist systems of oppression. And she’s happy to tell you about it.

First of all, he doesn’t give us any proof that Karine has said that she, personally is oppressed. Second, Tucker seems to be doing very well himself but is happy to tell you about how he and other white people are oppressed by all these black, gay, socialist, whatevers, walking around.

The New York Times had him nailed.
