Meghan McCain’s New Memoir ‘Bad Republican’ Sold So Few Copies We’re Almost Embarrassed for Her — Almost

Meghan McCain’s book Bad Republican: A Memoir, released on April 26, hasn’t exactly been met with an enthusiastic response from readers. The book, in fact, is practically dead in the water, having sold only 300 copies since its release, Mediaite reports.

Speaking of Bad Republicans, Meghan McCain is married to one of the worst…Ben Domenech, the co-founder and publisher of the conservative rag The Federalist.

According to a listing for the 224-page book on Amazon, McCain “expresses how it is to feel like you no longer fit with your political party.” It also adds:

“She tells of growing up the daughter of an American icon who shaped her life and details the heartbreaking final moments spent by his side. She recalls her (mis)adventures on the New York dating scene and brings us up to speed on meeting her now-husband. We hear her views on cancel culture and internet trolls as well as life backstage as the sole Republican at America’s most-watched daytime talk show — and why she decided to leave.”

“Unsparingly honest, deeply relatable, and highly entertaining, Bad Republican is as personal as a story gets. It’s a memoir imbued with an unmistakable maverick spirit.”

But despite this flowery description, book sales aren’t galloping along. And I think there’s a simple reason for this: People are sick of Meghan McCain and her constant complaining. During her time on The View, she sparred regularly with fellow panelist Joy Behar. McCain was frequently unhappy whenever the spotlight was on someone else. She continually made conversations — and any real discussions — about herself.

One of the few people who reviewed the book on Amazon rated the book one star, out of a possible five.

“I was so looking forward to reading this as I am an Independent and appreciate someone who can see all sides,” the reviewer writes. “What I got was a whiny little girl who complained about LIFE everything in life that EVERYONE has to deal with and most do it without feeling sorry for themselves… she is beyond blessed with familly support and financial resources and she still whines about EVERYTHING that is simply life, so sorry I wasted my time.”

Did you know Meghan McCain is the daughter of John McCain? Yes, she has said “My father” more often than any Catholic I know.

Another reviewer wrote:

“Look up the word whining and you find Meghan McCain. What [sic] disgraceful person she is. The world and its problems does not center around her heart. She may be surprised to hear that. So much more I could say but don’t want to ber blocked. Really don’t waste your money.”

This reviewer wasn’t particularly flattering either:

“I’m not an especially political person, so I gave it a look at my local library. The writing style is just revolting, and it’s so self-congratulatory that it’s likely unreadable for anyone other than the author. The overall implication is that this person is not going to be a popular or influential figure in politics at any time in the near or distant future.”

Ouch!

You might want to give the reviews a look. Some are pretty feisty and probably better written than Meghan’s book.

Meghan McCain isn’t a bad Republican…she’s just a Republican…they are all bad. She wants to act like an outlier, but she’s not. And luckily based on the sales of her book, others aren’t buying her claims either.
