Veteran Prosecutor Says it is Very Possible that Trump Gave Blanket Pardons to All His Kids and Close Staff
Glenn Kirschner is a former veteran prosecutor in the Washington D.C. office of the DOJ. If there is anyone that knows about prosecuting corruption cases, it is a guy like Kirschner, who has made some extremely good points of late about testimony within the January 6th Committee, such as the fact that it would be hard to secure a criminal conviction in any matter that involved critical testimony from Bill Barr. Bill Barr has famously lied even to the point of being called out personally by a District Court judge.
Right now, Kirschner is floating the possibility that Trump sprayed blanket pardons to his kids and close staff members (such as Kellyanne Conway). In the case of Trump’s kids, it sounds to me like these would have to be pocket pardons, ones that are in the kids’ files and not held by DOJ. But it’s hard to know. People have also speculated on whether Trump pardoned himself, and no one is sure whether it is legal or not. Everyone is sure that Trump is the only president so far that would try it.
Regardless, Kirschner bases his suspicion on legitimate questions.
Trump offering Kellyanne Conway an unsolicited blanket pardon makes it even more likely that DT gave his kids & others (Rudy?) blanket pardons. Might that be why Rudy, Don Jr., Ivanka & Jared testified before the J6 committee w/out pleading the 5th? (#JusticeMatters video soon).

That is an interesting theory. If one accepts a pardon, one loses any right to plead the 5th on any matter related to the pardon. Notice that Roger Stone did not get a pardon. Stone’s sentence was commuted, and that is a blinking red light that Stone still has information that could harm Trump significantly.
As to sweeping pardons for uncharged crimes? Ford gave Nixon one but it wasn’t challenged in court so it’s hard to know whether the precedent would hold up.
Nevertheless, it has been almost a year and a half and the only federal investigation of Trump – of which we know – is the grand jury empaneled over the top-secret files sitting in Mar-a-Lago.
