Ginni Thomas Now Trying to Weasel Her Way Out of Testifying Because She is Stressed Out

Earlier this month, Ginni Thomas, QAnon supporter, and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said she “looked forward” to answering questions from the January 6 committee. But it seems she’s had an abrupt change of heart, especially after Cassidy Hutchinson, former chief of staff Mark Meadows’ aide had a thing or two to tell the panel yesterday.

And as Queerty reports, we know this because her lawyer just fired off a letter to the committee saying she doesn’t want to meet with them. In fact, Thomas’s lawyer, Mark Paoletta fired off an eight-page tome yesterday requesting “a better justification for why Mrs. Thomas’s testimony is relevant,” before he would feel confident enough to recommend she go forward with her testimony.

“Based on my understanding of the communications that spurred the Committee’s request, I do not understand the need to speak with Mrs. Thomas,” Paoletta wrote.

Then there was this incredible quote in the letter:

“I would also note that this has been a particularly stressful time as the Thomases have been subjected to an avalanche of death threats and other abuse by the unprecedented assault on the conservative Supreme Court Justices and their families.”

It’s been months since the committee asked Thomas to speak after revelations emerged that she’d been in pretty close cahoots with the Trump camp in the days preceding the failed insurrection — including barraging Meadows with more than 20 cuckoo for cocoa puffs text messages.

Like this one, for instance.

“Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators (elected officials, bureaucrats, social media censorship mongers, fake stream media reporters, etc.) are being arrested & detained for ballot fraud right now & over the coming days, & will be living in barges off GITMO military tribunals for sedition.”

That totally makes a lot of sense right?

But let’s not forget that this woman also emailed back-and-forth with John Eastman, the Trump lawyer who wrote a memo outlining a plan to scupper the electoral process. Thomas was also a cheerleader for the insurrectionists, attending the Jan. 6 “Stop The Steal” rally and lauding the rioters on Facebook by writing “LOVE MAGA PEOPLE!!!” followed by “GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU STANDING UP or PRAYING.” She’s even gone so far as to email 29 Republican state lawmakers in Arizona, pleading with them to ignore the popular vote, which Joe Biden won by a wide margin, and “choose” presidential electors instead.

But Paoletta, in his letter to the committee, said he had “serious concerns” about their wish to speak with Thomas, adding that she and her husband “have been subjected to an avalanche of death threats and other abuse.”

Then he went totally fantasyland in the letter, saying he had personally reviewed her texts with Meadows and said all Ginni Thomas really did is express “concerns about the 2020 election” and “never claimed to have first-hand knowledge about election fraud.”

Right about now I wish I had a “Bang Head Here” sign on my wall. Because every single thing she’s done indicates she’s well beyond “concerned” and I’m beyond certain Thomas knows even more than she’s ever said.

But what about her communications with Eastman? Welp, Paoletta said after reading them, he found “not a single document” that looked questionable.

So really, why is Thomas suddenly acting hard to get? It couldn’t be because of Hutchinson’s testimony, could it?

Nah.
