Kellyanne Conway Claims Mark Meadows Was a Terrible Chief of Staff to Trump, ‘The Man Did Not Match the Moment’

This is another snippet of info from Kellyanne Conway’s new book, “Here’s the Deal”, which has turned out to be a total dud, with first week sales at just 25,000 copies. For a little contrast, Mary Trump’s book “Too Much and Never Enough” sold 1.35 million copies in its first week. I believe no one wants to actually buy Kellyanne’s book because let’s be honest, the woman lied constantly, and what’s the point of buying a book that is most likely full of lies as well, along with a healthy dose of fealty to Trump? No thanks.

So, we’ll give you any juicy parts, and this part is rather juicy.

Conway details how in August 2020, the then counselor to the president was worried about the advice and guidance Donald Trump was receiving from those in his inner circle, most notably Mark Meadows — the ultra-conservative former North Carolina congressman who had become Trump’s fourth chief of staff in March of 2020.

Conway would soon be leaving her role in the White House for family reasons, but she was concerned about the continued challenges stemming from the coronavirus pandemic and Trump’s reelection matchup against Joe Biden.

Conway didn’t think Trump was being well-served by Meadows and didn’t hold back when explaining why she was so frustrated with Meadows and several other top aides in the White House.

“Some of the staff egos were bigger than the enormous tasks confronting us. Others acted like adolescents in cliques or hungry sharks with agendas separate from that of the nation. People could not even agree on a mask policy. Most of them were insisting he would win reelection in a landslide before ‘Sleepy Joe’ ever awoke,” she wrote.

She added: “Meadows, the self-described ‘chief ‘s chief,’ was the fourth person to serve in that role, and the only one during the most fraught time for the president and for the nation. The man did not match the moment. I could have been angry, but mostly I felt worried.”

Conway also wrote that Trump was “poorly advised” on many issues, including gay rights, pointing out that “senior staff” put a stop to a plan by Trump and wife Melania Trump to commemorate Pride Month in 2020, which call me a cynic, I just find very hard to believe.

“My eyes were already wide open. The president was being underserved, poorly advised, and, ironically, ignored by ‘senior staff,'” she wrote.

She continued: “Like in June of that year, when the First Lady was finalizing a plan to light up the White House in the pride colors and send out a tweet that the president planned to retweet. All of a sudden when the day came, nothing happened — the whole plan had been blocked.”

Conway also claimed that Meadows “wanted to be the president’s BFF,” which “meant more important than the duly-elected vice president.”

That I believe. Meadows wanted to be the person closest to Trump because having that close proximity to power is intoxicating. But that doesn’t mean he couldn’t do his job.

So again, Kellyanne was the queen of “alternate facts”, so anything she says has to be taken with a grain of salt. But, Kellyanne had some reason to dislike Meadows. Maybe Meadows became more important to Trump than Kellyanne was? Was it a jealousy issue? Who knows. But I think it’s clear Meadows was a piss-poor chief-of-staff…just look at the final year of Trump’s presidency.
