Horrifying Video Catches Moment Shots are Heard During Highland Park Fourth of July Parade
Police are looking for an 18 to 20-year-old white male who unleashed the devastation that you will hear and see below. (There are no casualties seen in the video but one can certainly sense the terror from everyone there, people who came out to just see a Fourth of July parade). Once again, that same 18 to 20-year-old used a rifle, they do not know yet what kind, it’s possible it’s a hunting rifle, though in the video you will hear shots fired very very rapidly, more rapidly than most hunting rifles can shoot.
We only mention the “rifle” fact because the assault rifle has been the weapon of choice for the last 15 years for all mass shootings. It leads to deaths, not casualties (though there are a lot of those, too). The round has three to four higher times the velocity of anything that comes out of a handgun. Many people don’t know that it is the velocity that is most harmful to people shot (other than targeting the most vital areas). The higher the velocity, the more momentum, and the greater the damage, bleeding, broken bones, and torn muscle (sorry) that occurs.
At least with respect to assault rifles, (And we’re not positive yet that an assault rifle was used, only that it was a rifle, not a handgun), they were banned from 1994 to 2004 in the crime bill, but the ten-year ban was allowed to expire as if it provided no benefit. If they only knew back in 1994.
Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), who represents Highland Park, reacted on Twitter, writing, “Hearing of loss of life and others injured. My condolences to the family and loved ones; my prayers for the injured and for my community. Enough is enough!”
Today a shooter struck in Highland Park during the Independence Day parade. My campaign team and I were gathering at the start of the parade when shooting started. My team and I are safe and secure. We are monitoring the situation closely and in touch with the Mayor.

Here is the video. Obviously, no one is under any obligation to watch it other than perhaps the members of Congress and the NRA that champion these weapons. Congress tried to outlaw the assault rifles for 18-20 year olds just weeks ago and couldn’t get it done. Who knows when this person bought this weapon. Those people should be under an obligation to watch the video below:
