Texas A.G. Paxton Wants to Prosecute Corporations that Pay for Employees to Travel for Abortion
In an overreach that is almost impossible to imagine in this nation, the state of Texas believes that not only can it outlaw abortions within the state but it can outlaw a private arrangement to send a woman out of state to have an abortion. Such a law cannot possibly be constitutional. In effect, Texas believes it can regulate women’s bodies headed out of its borders and the private companies for which they work.
You can also bet that if Texas is planning on criminalizing companies that help a woman get an abortion outside the state, it will also make it a crime for any individual who helps a woman. For that matter, why wouldn’t Texas make it a crime for a woman to leave to have an abortion? Are women going to have to undergo pregnancy checks before they leave and reenter the state? There are already rumors that Mississippi state legislators are considering having dogs at the airports (Dogs can smell pregnancies).
How does a state decide whether the 18-year-old is leaving to see grandma or have an abortion? Test her when she gets back? Call grandma? Will the state charge the airline with a crime?

Texas attorney general Ken Paxton says he is planning to prosecute corporations that pay for employees to travel interstate to access abortion care. “It’s actually a new concept for us — these corporations deciding to pay for people to go get their abortions,” Mr Paxton said in an interview with NewsNation.
He said the penalties for businesses that support their employees having abortions could be in excess of $100,000. “We’re looking at that literally as we speak,” he said.
Dozens of American companies including Disney, Apple, JP Morgan Chase, Adidas and Airbnb are guaranteeing abortion benefits for their employees in the aftermath of the US Supreme Court voting to overturn Roe v Wade.
