GOP Congresswoman Jackie Walorski Killed in Car Crash, Along With Two Aides
This is sad. A woman and two of her aides lost their lives today, and when that happens, screw partisan politics.
Congresswoman Jackie Walorski, a Republican from Indiana’s 2nd district, was killed in an automobile accident on Wednesday. According to multiple news outlets, Walorski died following a crash in Elkhart County at 12.32 pm local time.
Walorski’s communications director, Emma Thompson, was named among the deceased, as was a local Republican Party official. According to the news station, Walorski’s vehicle was struck head-on by a driver who crossed over into oncoming traffic; the driver of that vehicle died as well.
A reminder of just how hard this is…a husband lost his wife today and we hope he finds peace. And the two young aides who were just in their late 20’s. Heartbreaking.
Dean Swihart, Jackie’s husband, was just informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s office that Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon. She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Congress has lost one of our best.
Rep. Jackie Walorski was a true leader/legislator and the most thoughtful person one could hope to meet. She was dedicated and determined, and the kindest of colleagues — with the heart to match.
Please think of her family and loved ones.

Rep. Walorski, R-Indiana, has died in a car crash, confirmed (and by others).
Just spoke to two GOP members of Congress who are in shock.
She was known as intensely focused and widely respected as someone who stuck to her word and was always there to support and help.
