Karl Rove Reveals Who He Thinks ‘Mar-a-Lago Mole’ Is and No, It’s Not Jared Kushner

Karl Rove may be partially right in thinking that one of the “moles” – often called “informants” by people who are not upset that someone is reporting a crime – is a Secret Service Agent. It makes sense. They are sworn law enforcement officers and may feel strongly about keeping lists of American assets protected. But Rove is overlooking the fact that the affidavit mentioned a “significant number” of informants who would be put at risk if certain material were to be released.

Regardless, Rove was on Fox News last night, speculating about something he knows no more about than you do:

“The Secret Service – and this is just my own personal conjecture, no information other than simply knowing the Secret Service is there – they have no statutory responsibility over classified material.

“But they are sworn, federal law officers. They are law enforcement, and they have a responsibility to report a crime, and particularly after a letter is sent from one of the president’s lawyers saying, ‘We don’t have any more classified material.’

“If somebody sent a letter and said ‘we don’t have classified material,’ and somebody in the Secret Service said ‘I have seen classified material still in the walls of Mar-a-Lago,’ he had a responsibility to report that through the chain of command or maybe directly to the counterintelligence division.

“They would have somebody who had said, in essence, ‘You have been misled’ – whether it was a deliberate lie or a lie based in ignorance, somebody told you there’s no more classified material here, there is classified material here.”

Again, it’s a good theory as to one or two of the informants. But we also know that there are far more than one or two informants. The FBI has this thing covered from every angle and surely have a lot of informants, perhaps even some within the Trump family.
