Trump Hires Famous ‘Celebrity’ Attorney to Represent Him — An Attorney Who Doesn’t Seem to Like Trump at All

Former President Donald Trump is bringing out one very prominent big gun — a high-powered attorney who’s gained fame for representing rappers — to represent him in the special grand jury probe into whether he illegally attempted to tamper with the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

Drew Findling has represented some pretty impressive clients, including Cardi B, Migos, Gucci Mane, and comedian Katt Williams, The Independent reports. On his Twitter bio, you’ll find the hashtag #BillionDollarLawyer and he has an Instagram feed stuffed with photos of him and his famous clients.

Because he’s representing Trump, this might lead you to think Findling is a staunch Republican, but if he is, there’s seemingly one area where he’s not. He has one other Instagram post, dated just two days after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last June. In the post, he states his firm is dedicated to “fighting to restore a woman’s right to choose, which has been destroyed by the Supreme Court. He has offered to defend anyone charged under Georgia’s draconian abortion laws free of charge.

And the weird thing is, even though Findling is repping Trump, it doesn’t sound like he’s all that fond of the former president. When Trump insulted basketball star, LeBron James in a tweet, Findling pounced, calling Trump “the racist architect of fraudulent Trump university,” and ended the tweet with “POTUS pathetic once again!”

In a statement released Thursday, the Findling Law Firm said it has been hired, and attorneys Jennifer Little and Dwight Thomas will also represent Trump.

“We are committed to fighting this misuse of the law and taxpayer resources,” the firm said in the statement. “The team is confident that there have been no violations of Georgia law. The focus on President Trump may be newsworthy (no really?), but this investigation is wholly misdirected and politically driven.”

And I’m not really sure if these people are being artfully cunning or what.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis started the investigation early last year, and a special grand jury was installed at her request in May.

Willis has admitted from the beginning of the investigation that she’s concentrating specifically on the January 2021 phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. During the conversation, Trump practically begged Raffensperger to see if he could “find” the votes to upset his narrow loss in the state.

“All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have,” Trump said during the call. “Because we won the state.”

Last month Willis filed petitions seeking to compel testimony from a number of Trump associates and advisers to speak before the grand jury. That list includes former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) who pulled a no-show at the Fulton County Court where he was expected to testify.

Seems to me like Willis is pretty fearless and not a person who’s easily discouraged. That’s wonderful news because she’s going to need this. She has even said she may subpoena Trump himself.

As for Findling, there’s another icky aspect to his firm. He successfully defended Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill against racketerring charges in a trial that could have ended his career in law enforcement. In 2013 he was acquitted of 27 felony charges as part of an indictment that alleged he used his office for personal gain.

And Findling is representing him again. This time, Hill faces charges of violating the civil rights of several people who were in custody at his agency. They were left unnecessarily strapped into restraint chairs and left there for hours, as ordered by Hill.

That’s the kind of people Findling represents. I guess it’s fitting he’s repping Trump, considering the kind of person Trump is.
