Jamie Raskin Just Went HAM on Republicans on House Floor: ‘They’ll Denounce Biden, Won’t Say a Thing About Putin!’

Democrats are emboldened. For the first time in two to three generations, the “culture wars” align with the Democrats, and the world is upside down.

When the SCOTUS ruled on the Dobbs case, it ripped a woman’s right to her own body out of her legal possession, but it also handed the Democrats an issue that middle America could get behind. Republican extremism finally hit home hard for at least 50% of Americans. Even some of the “pro-life” voters in this country weren’t prepared to be as “pro-life” as some of the state legislatures had already gone, with laws in place, terrifying doctors.

Raskin began his speech by noting that the “good people of Kansas” showed the country the way and that women shouldn’t be answering to Lindsey Graham’s ideas as to where their bodily autonomy begins and ends. Raskin moved on to the Republicans wanting to debate some FTC regulation that “no one’s ever heard of” and “blame Biden for the economy but not Vladimir Putin…”

And that’s when Raskin really hit it, “They will denounce President Biden all day, but they won’t denounce Vladimir Putin, not for one second…” and then went on to say that he even heard one Republican say that “Putin wins,” which launched Raskin into a riff about the real winners being the people fighting for democracy and freedom in Ukraine.

It was most impressive.

As someone said on Twitter: I mean Lindsey gave him a lay up but still. He’s dunking like Jordan.

And yes, this was in response to yesterday when Graham proposed legislation instituting a 15-week ban on abortion, a bill that is now co-sponsored by Marco Rubio, who may now be actively trying to lose his election. If we can just get the rest of the Democrats to start pounding the podium. The culture wars have finally aligned with the Democrats’ political interests… sadly. So they may as well use them.
