Adam Kinzinger: Committee May Agree to Trump’s Demands and Allow Him to Testify LIVE

This might be the ultimate in “be careful what you wish for,” or be careful firing off posts on Truth Social without thinking and consulting with people who are wiser and more dispassionate than you. The Committee voted to subpoena Donald Trump. Trump said he would cooperate, but only if he could do it live on television (RATINGS!), almost surely thinking the Committee wouldn’t grant it. And today, Committee-member Adam Kinzinger said that the Committee will negotiate with Trump about letting him appear live.

The stakes will be very high. But anytime one faces such a setting, the advantage always goes to the entity that hasn’t committed multiple crimes, isn’t a pathological liar, isn’t the most arrogant person on earth, and the group with far more experience in maturely addressing the issue, which is surely why Kinzinger says they’re open to it:

From ABC News:

The House Jan. 6 committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot would need to negotiate with former President Donald Trump if he were to offer to testify live in response to the panel’s subpoena, Rep. Adam Kinzinger said Sunday.

“I think that’s going to be a negotiation,” Kinzinger, R-Ill., a member of the committee, told ABC “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos. “I’ll only address that when we know for sure whether or not the president has tried to push to come in and talk to us live.”

“He’s made it clear he has nothing to hide, [that’s] what he said. So he should come in on the day we asked him to come in. If he pushes off beyond that, we’ll figure out what to do next,” Kinzinger said.

Yes, Trump certainly said that he has nothing to hide, but then he’s turned around and hidden at every critical point in his political life, whether it was relying on privilege, not allowing witnesses, or hiding documents, Trump must hide. And that’s why the Committee needs to grant all reasonable requests in order to get Trump to hang himself live on television, where there is nowhere to hide.

RATINGS! It might be the most watched television since the moon-landings. People have a sick fascination in watching someone utterly destroy themselves over the course of 90 minutes.
