Elon Musk’s Mother Wants People to ‘Stop Being Mean’ to Her Baby Boy: ‘He Gets a Lot of Hate’

Her name is Maye Musk and she wants us to quit picking on her son, Elon Musk. She’s coming to her son’s defense because she wants his critics to “stop being mean to him” and says her son “gets a lot of hate” because he’s so successful.

She’s defending her Twitter owner/CEO son, whom she calls “a genius” as part of a BBC documentary about the world’s wealthiest man. His $44 billion acquisition of the social media giant was chaotic and he’s weathering a torrent of criticism because his new venture has gotten off to a bumpy start.

But since Musk is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, he may be used to bumpy starts.

The Independent reports that half of Twitter’s staff of 7500 people have been fired, accompanied by numerous executives who handled security, safety, and privacy issues on the platform.

Musk is also trying to implement Twitter Blue, a new $8-per-month verification system that, per the Independent, “has seen users with a blue tick mark pretend to be major corporations, athletes, politicians, and celebrities.” That’s turned into a mess because Twitter was forced to pause the new system quickly thanks to imposter accounts. Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly saw its stocks plunge precipitously after someone set up a fake account with the company’s name and tweeted “we are excited to announce insulin is now free.”

Of course, anyone in their right mind would know that was a fake account because insulin is a cash cow for every pharmaceutical company that produces it and will likely never be free. But that’s just me, the type 2 diabetic that I am. Hey, if Elon Musk’s mother can complain about things, so can I.

Musk has, of course, been wildly successful with the electric automaker and with launching rockets into space, and that, Maye Musk told The Elon Musk Show, means “with those companies, he gets a lot of hate.”

And there soon may be more fun for Musk, because now, President Joe Biden is saying Musk’s ties to foreign countries are “worth being looked at” in regard to national security concerns.

Biden had been asked about the South African billionaire’s financial and commercial ties to Saudi Arabia and China and whether he thought Musk could be a threat to American security.

“I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at, whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate — I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting it’s worth being looked at. That’s all I’ll say,” Biden told reporters during a press conference last week.

Perhaps Biden sees Musk as risky as Donald Trump has seemed to be thanks to his connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin; I don’t really know, I’m just surmising here.

However, I’m going to add this link, because the U.S. has less than savory dealings with Saudi Arabia and I think it’s something worth pondering.
