2024 Election

Fox News Host Says Trump ‘Ages at a Different Rate’ Than Joe Biden Does

Fox News colleagues Dana Perino and Kellyanne Conway were having a discussion about age as it relates to former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, with Perino suggesting that Trump is somehow aging at a “different rate” than Biden.

It’s hard to say what they’re drinking at Fox News to make such observations but Perino may have a point because Trump’s anger has turned him into a bloated, spiteful man who rarely exercises anything other than his mouth. As for Biden, yes he gaps a word or two but he still seems reasonably sharp and he and first lady Jill Biden, as far as I know, both are still riding their bikes.

Has Trump ever ridden a bike? Who knows?

And as the 2024 election looms, Trump is supposed to announce his candidacy for president tonight (Tuesday, November 15), while Biden has indicated he’s likely to run again. If there’s one thing to be said about both men, it’s that they are certifiably elderly. Biden is 79, while Trump is 76.

Trump was, however exercising his fingers on Truth Social early this morning hinting at his major announcement — the one that no decent, sane American wants to hear:

“Hopefully TODAY will turn out to be one of the most important days in the history of our Country!”

Leave it to Trump to overstate his importance in history. The Civil War, and World Wars I, and II are arguably more important but things like this aren’t in this man’s purview.

According to The Independent, the topic of age came up during Conway’s interview when Perino cited a tweet from former White House Secretary Jen Psaki, who reminded people critical of Biden’s age that Trump isn’t much younger.

“Just throwing out there. For everyone who is arguing the reason @POTUS shouldn’t run again is because of his age…you know Donald Trump is 76 right?” Psaki, who now works for MSNBC tweeted Monday.

But even as this was pointed out, that Trump is only three and a half years younger than the President, Perino dismissed the figures by suggesting that age can be measured figuratively, not just in literal numbers.

“Eh, I don’t know — everybody ages at a different rate,” she told Conway before moving on to her next point. “So maybe we can set that aside.”

Biden, who turns 80 on November 20, has also argued that age shouldn’t be the measuring stick voters use to judge his capabilities. Instead, he’s suggesting voters should focus on his “energy.”

“In terms of my energy level, in terms of how much I’m able to do, I think people should look and say — can he still have the same passion for what he’s doing?” the President said, following up on remarks he’d made the week before when he said it was his “intention” to run again in 2024.

As The Independent notes, if Biden is reelected he’ll be the oldest president in U.S. history and would be 86 when his term ends. Trump will be 82 on January 20, 2029.

But Biden is also acknowledging that his hopes of being reelected aren’t chiseled in stone. During the same MSNBC interview last month Biden noted that the election is, after all still two years away and he could either “get a disease tomorrow” or “drop dead.” However, he reminded viewers he’s still in good health and it’s down to this that his age shouldn’t be a concern.

“I’m in good health,” Biden said. “All my, everything physically about me is still functioning well, so you know, and mentally too.”

Trump, to me, has aged significantly because hate isn’t a good look for anyone, but that’s all he ever exemplifies. Especially if anyone dares go against him. He’s petulant and cruel. We’ve seen this in play so many times. And Trump has often appeared unhealthy. All his anger has to go somewhere and it looks very much like it has harmed him.

Biden has fallen off his bike and then hopped right back on. Do I need to say more?
