Whoopi Goldberg Calls Out Fox News for Their Part in the Pelosi Attack, ‘Some of This Is on Your Hands!’

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg did not mince any words when she blamed Fox News for sparking political violence that led to the vicious attack on Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s 82-year-old husband (D-Calif.).

“Fox News, some of this is on your hands. Some of this is on your hands. You like to call people out,” Goldberg said as the show headed towards a commercial break. “Well, I’m calling you all out. Stop with the ‘that side is not good.’ Because this is what it puts out there. It tells people that you think it’s okay to do this. Stop doing it.”

Paul Pelosi is recovering in the ICU, Mediaite reports. According to police, Pelosi was allegedly assaulted with a hammer as part of a home invasion by 42-year-old David DePape. Officials say DePape has confessed that he was looking for Nancy Pelosi because she was the “leader of the pack” of lies spread by the Democratic Party.

DePape forcefully broke into the back of Pelosi’s San Francisco home. He reportedly shouted “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?” according to a report Sunday from CNN that cited “two sources who have been briefed on the incident.” The report also stated that DePape “had with him a bag that contained multiple zip ties, among other things.”

Goldberg isn’t the first Democrat to criticize the conservative cable news outlet over its programming in the aftermath of the attack on Paul Pelosi. In an interview, California Governor Gavin Newsom sharply criticized Fox anchor Jesse Watters for “aiding and abetting” the attack. Watters responded Monday by calling Newsom “not very smart” and accused him of aiding and abetting the attack.

Which sounds rather juvenile in a “your mother wears army boots” sort of way. It’s kind of along the same lines as Tucker Carlson’s bizarre comments about testosterone, where it seemed like he was channeling Alex Jones.

But this sort of thing is typical for Fox News, now isn’t it?

Mediaite reports that on Monday DePape was hit with federal charges including assaulting an immediate family member of a U.S. official with intent to retaliate against the official on account of the performance of official duties and attempted kidnapping of a U.S. official. The first charge includes a maximum prison sentence of 30 years in prison, while the second one includes a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, per an affidavit from the Department of Justice. The affidavit confirms that DePape was carrying zip ties and other items as part of his attempt to kidnap Nancy Pelosi.

DePape is an avid believer in the QAnon conspiracy theory and is rabidly anti-Semitic. He has railed against what he perceives as censorship and government control and has engaged in other forms of hate speech.

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s presidency, this is what the U.S. has become. Americans are now so polarized that the country has become something it was never meant to be — a place where hatred and fascism reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s.

And we have Trump to thank for that.

Here’s what Whoopi Goldberg had to say in the video below.
