Americans Are Disgusted at Megyn Kelly After Her Petty, Jealous Attack on Jill Biden

Megyn Kelly was chilling at home on Sunday while watching the NFL playoffs when she decided to attack Dr. Jill Biden on Twitter. She suggested we should stop addressing her as “Dr. Jill Biden.” She criticized the first lady for using a “fake title.”

And right-wingers, being who they are, liked and retweeted this tens of thousands of times, Newsweek reports. Some within the Twitterverse accused her of being “jealous and petty.”

Even though her husband, Joe Biden, is the President of the United States, Jill is still diligently working as an educator, using the doctorate she earned during the earlier part of this century.

The First Lady was enjoying the game, watching the Philadelphia Eagles win against the San Francisco 49ers at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, and was shown among the crowd on TV, and that’s when Kelly took issue with how she was referred to.

“Announcers for this Eagles-49ers game just spotted the First Lady in a box and of course call her ‘Dr. Jill Biden,'” Kelly posted on Twitter Sunday. “Wonder if she realizes what a wannabe she looks like insisting on this fake title. Get a real MD or just work on your self-esteem.”

I don’t really understand why Kelly doesn’t realize that universities offer many different kinds of doctorate degrees, not just ones for MDs. You’d think she’d understand that.

As it is, Dr. Biden has two master’s degrees from Villanova University and West Chester University, and she earned her doctorate in education from the University of Delaware in January 2007. She currently teaches English and writing at Northern Virginia Community College.

After Kelly fired off the snippy tweet, some of the Twitter responses that received the most likes were the ones that gave the former Fox News host a good dissing.

“PhDs existed before MDs. You sound jealous and petty,” said Dr. Allison Gill, host of the Mueller, She Wrote podcast.

Some mentioned Kelly’s past usage of the title for other people. Tommy Vietor, a former staffer in the Obama administration, accused Kelly of “selective outrage,” dredging up some of Kelly’s tweets from 2015, where she refers to “Dr. Sebastian Gorka. He served as Donald Trump’s deputy assistant to the President of the United States in 2017, and many academics distrust his doctoral credentials.

“Why is it important?” radio host Dan Joseph said in a twitter reply to Kelly. “All of my professors in college were referred to as ‘Dr.’ No one had a problem with it.”

Writer Brooke Hammerling was also confounded by Kelly’s sentiments on the subject.

“This is the strangest hill to die on,” she tweeted. “Like the strangest most bizarre thirsty trying to stay relevant but legit have nothing to hold onto hill to die on.”

Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown had a particularly flattering response to Kelly’s tweet:

“You are an insufferable twit,” she replied.

There were a few other hilarious doozies as well.
