2024 Election
Trump’s Brilliant Plan to Beat Ron DeSantis is to Kick Him ‘In The Nuts’
Former president Donald Trump is still on shaky ground in the Republican Party, even though he possibly played a part in Kevin McCarthy becoming Speaker of the House (after 15 highly embarrassing tries). That, however, hasn’t discouraged Trump from pushing forward with his 2024 hopes of becoming president, Uproxx reports.
But he may have to face Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and this could get heated. A recent national University of Massachusetts Amherst Poll found that Trump and DeSantis are running neck-and-neck for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Of course, DeSantis hasn’t officially announced he’s running and there is a chance he may hold off until 2028, but don’t worry, Trump’s team has it handled. Probably about as well as his coronavirus task force handled Covid.
“This is where…Trump kicks him in the nuts,” said one source close to the ex-president during an interview with Rolling Stone. While DeSantis is probably having a good laugh over this, Trump’s team is allegedly working on several plans to derail DeSantis. Apparently Trump may even be getting in on the action, and it’s reported that he’s been constantly asking advisors, ‘What do we have on [Ron]?'”

Seems like we’ve heard this before, haven’t we?
But the Trump camp is apparently making a smart move (yes I’m shocked too), by tackling DeSantis for his stance on Social Security.
“In a Republican primary, only Donald Trump could effectively go after Ron DeSantis for wanting to cut Social Security,” one GOPer tied to the Trump campaign told the magazine. “Trump has a track record of saying the right things on this issue both when it comes to a general election and also Republican voters in a primary. DeSantis’ record in the House [on this topic] is very much of the Paul Ryan, privatize Social Security platform, which is just not where our voters are now.”
And it also looks like Trump will try to brand DeSantis as the “establishment” candidate, which according to Uproxx, “is an interesting approach given Republican politicians are often chastised for not making public proclamations to the former president.” Sure, that red wave didn’t materialize during the midterm elections, but there are still plenty of Trump-supporting, MAGA-spewing fools in the GOP.
And few things scream “establishment” as much as that does.
