Compare the Valentines of the Bidens and the Obamas to Donald & Melania Trump

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden shared loving and kind Valentine’s Day wishes on Twitter, as did former first couple Barack and Michelle Obama. Each of the tweets showed mutual respect for each other and those around us.

And then there were posts by Donald Trump on Truth Social, where former first lady Melania Trump was not mentioned. Not even once.

Truth Social, of course, is little more than a right-wing version of Twitter, and Trump used this day to do what he always does, b*tch for endless hours about his usual complaints — comparing U.S. law enforcement to the Nazi Gestapo, who were Nazi secret police. Bipartisan Report added, “The frantic desperation from Trump’s corner is even more glaring when you consider Truth Social was designed in a way that it looks a lot like Twitter, where for some time he was banned.”

One of these things is not like the other

But over on the Twitter side of things, Valentine’s messages between first couples former and present were lovely.

“Happy Birthday to the love of my life and the life of my love. I love you, Jilly.”

Jill Biden sent several lovely messages, and also shared one from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and adorable kitty Willow, who lays across Jean-Pierre’s shoulders.

Biden also tweeted messages like this: “From Fort Drum to the White House — these valentines were made with the loving hands of our country’s military children.”

“This Valentine’s Day, I hope you reach out to each other with open hearts and helping hands.”

The Obama messages were also warm and kind.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to the one and only, @MichelleObama,” the former president posted Tuesday. “You make every day feel like an adventure.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day, @BarackObama!” Michelle Obama tweeted. “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to navigate life with. Love you!”

Now if this is where you are waiting to see what bon mots the Trumps had for each other, you won’t find any. Neither of them seem to care about the holiday since it’s fairly obvious they don’t actually love each other. It’s rather sad when you think about it. Being president is hard, and you need a loving partner. But, I guess Melania cares more about shopping and spa days.

It’s just so painfully obvious

While the Obamas may no longer hold public office but they are definitely politically active. Barack Obama spoke at several campaign rallies in the run-up to the 2022 midterm elections in key swing states and even made another stop in Georgia when the Senate race there became a runoff election after neither candidate passed 50 percent in the first round of voting. Michelle Obama recorded messages for Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock’s Senate bid. And she’s led the organization When We All Vote, which aims to encourage voter outreach efforts, including voter registration drives. And the Obamas will more than likely be actively campaigning when the 2024 presidential race gets truly underway. Biden is widely expected to run and there’s no indication as to whether he’ll face a serious primary challenge from other Democrats.

But the Democrats should still be on their game nevertheless. I don’t think Trump stands much of a chance of winning in 2024, but other stronger Republican challengers like Nikki Haley have stepped in and many think Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may also run.

All I can say is stay tuned.
