Steve Bannon Says Sarah Huckabee Sanders Isn’t Smart Enough to Deliver the SOTU Rebuttal, ‘Let’s Be Blunt’

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered the GOP’s official response to President Joe Biden’s State of The Union Address and managed to anger Democrats and Republicans simultaneously. That’s quite a stunt, but not all that surprising since she’s not really all that talented.

Lots of people on the left were upset as she attacked Black Americans and LGBTQ people in a lengthy (I watched it, I know) speech that spewed all kinds of culture war rhetoric and extremist ridiculosity (if that’s a word) but completely lacking in vision or policy. But that’s Huckabee Sanders; she’s artificial cheese sitting amongst all the Monterey Jack.

And, according to The New Civil Rights Movement, many folks on the right didn’t care for her remarks either.

Lou Dobbs, far-right culture dude, and former Fox Business anchor told the cleanliness-challenged former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon that he found Huckabee Sanders’s speech “unacceptable” and said it was “an insult to President Trump” for “not mentioning his name,” according to Media Matters for America.

“Sarah Huckabee went to Iraq with the President and the First Lady in the dark of night, for Christmas, with our troops,” Dobbs remembered.

And believe me, she helped us all remember this by droning on and on about it. Without mentioning 45’s name, much to Dobbs’ chagrin.

“To not mention his name, to talk about ‘new leadership’ — it looked like the Governor’s Association had written much of that speech, and aligned themselves with Ron DeSantis,” Dobbs complained, saying this showed a “lack of respect to POTUS.”

Bannon, who is a convicted felon on two federal criminal contempt charges, also didn’t care for her commentary, adding that her remarks were “an insult to Trump.”

“She does not exist, politically, if it’s not for President Trump,” Bannon said. “I thought the speech was terrible.”

“If you’re going to give a counter speech, you’ve got to talk about important issues,” Bannon continued. “Don’t get me wrong, the wokeism is very important. But it’s not quite the heart of the matter right now, right? It’s not the heart of the matter. She is not — the reason is she’s just not — she’s not intellectually capable of going to the heart of the matter, right? Let’s be blunt.”

“This was like written by Ron DeSantis and the entire RGA (Republican Governor’s Association),” Bannon said.

Of course, Huckabee Sanders may have kept her speech vague because she’s hoping to cozy up to DeSantis should he decide to run for president on the GOP ticket in 2024. Who knows? Maybe she thinks she’s Vice President material? You don’t have to be “intellectually capable” to do the job. We found that out with Mike Pence.

And quite frankly, the tweet below doesn’t make her seem particularly intelligent either.
