Horrible Day at CPAC for Trump and His Allies, Ballrooms Were Almost EMPTY as No One Was Interested in Their Evil MAGA Spiel

The CPAC conference got off to a bumpy start on Wednesday and the situation hasn’t improved since then. It looks like the Conservative Political Action Conference is going to be a real dud this year. Things have actually been going so slow that it’s still selling tickets.

But one thing has become very clear: The American Conservative Union, which hosts the event, and the GOP activist base have definitely leaned further right, The Independent reports.

That, however, has chased away more moderate Republicans. The event could have been a crucial meeting ground for many Republicans but instead, it looked more like a celebration of everything Donald Trump.

“The split was evident in the crowd sizes at the event on Friday, when many big-name speakers including Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo, Donald Trump Jr., and others were slated to speak,” the Independent reports. “All of the above spoke to half-empty ballrooms which struggled to reach the same tenor and excitement of your average Trump rally.”

And when one reporter tried to manually estimate the crowd size for Pompeo’s speech, he was rudely rebuffed by CPAC staff.

This was the “crowd” for Marjorie Taylor Greene, the new MAGA darling of the GOP. You can see her on the monitors…this is mid speech and the room is mostly empty.

Attendance issues at CPAC can be blamed on the extreme-right tilt of the GOP as Donald Trump rose to power.

“Republicans aligned with their party’s leaders on Capitol Hill were wholly absent from the convention center; the event instead was home to far-right heroes like Dave Brat, famous for knocking out the GOP’s then-majority leader, Eric Cantor, in a surprise primary victory, and a cast of circuslike characters wearing costumes which would appear more at home at one of the former president’s raucous campaign events,” the Independent noted.

Booths set up on CPAC’S general convention floor creepily exemplified the uglier far-right craziness you might associate with a Trump rally. Groups like Moms for America, an anti-transgender group, and Young Americans for Freedom, a far-right college group were surrounded by a cadre of novelty products. This even included a “patriot”— themed mobile phone service provider.

More moderate groups that are generally quite active in GOP campaigning, like Club for Growth, were nowhere to be found.

The shrunken crowd size didn’t escape the notice of America’s most noted white nationalist, Nick Fuentes, who managed to make a scene Thursday when he was kicked out of CPAC by staff and then kicked out of the Gaylord hotel by management. Prior to being kicked out, he said he’d managed to pose for a picture with Mike Lindell, MyPillow CEO.

“This is crazy,” Fuentes posted on his Telegram account. “Totally empty room for Don Jr.”

At least one Twitter user who’s no fan of the former president couldn’t resist having a say.

And some of the speakers, like Kari Lake, for instance, were roundly mocked.
