Eric Trump Faces Huge Backlash for Lying About the ‘Tens and Tens of Thousands’ of People Who Came Out to Support His Indicted Father

Eric Trump is receiving a talking to from Twitter users because he falsely claimed that “tens and tens of thousands” came out to support his father on the day of his arrest and arraignment.

Donald Trump’s middle son made the absurd claim in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Tuesday night, within hours of his father being arrested and arraigned, The Independent reports.

“When we got off the plane and you saw tens and tens of thousands of people lining the streets all the way from Palm Beach International airport to Mar-a-Lago waving American flags and Trump 2024 flags, Sean, the love is incredible,” he told Hannity.

“No one has ever seen that kind of love and this is coming off of the day that the 45th president of the United States was indicted and the streets are lined with people literally singing ‘God Bless America.'”

The younger Trump even bragged about the crowd size in Manhattan, claiming that “every single intersection was closed” and that there “was an army outside the courthouse” for his father’s arrival. Right before that, he asked (rather weirdly, I might add) “How many people died” because the NYPD was providing security around the courthouse.

Well, his commentary baffled social media folks, because the fact is, few Trump supporters showed up to watch the first U.S. president in history be arrested and arraigned. In fact, the crowd of mass media covering the case practically swallowed up the small pro-Trump crowd.

The few who gathered were met by counterprotesters and there were brief clashes with little unrest.

Marjorie Taylor “Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs” Greene and George “I never tell a lie” Santos held a pro-Trump protest in a park near the courthouse, but were summarily driven out.

And the turnout in Florida was no great shakes either. It was a quiet affair, with sparse numbers of supporters dotting Trump’s journey from Mar-a-Lago to the airport.

So this led Twitter users to wonder if Eric Trump was “hallucinating” the purported huge crowd size.

“I think he meant tens and tens of people,” one person tweeted.

“Where were they? The camera missed them? All of them?” another person wondered.

One user couldn’t help but quip: “I’ve seen bigger crowds for my daughter’s high school football team.”

Others chided Eric for his impaired math ability while noting he still works for the Trump Organization.

“No wonder they have so many bankruptcies, none of them are very good with large numbers,” one person observed.

“To be fair, numbers and thinking in general aren’t his strong suits, not that he has any,” another person said.

Several more Twitter users contributed to the fun:
