Ivanka Trump had already been avoiding her father Donald Trump for months until they reunited for the funeral of her mother, Ivana Trump. And when they met she begged him not to run for president in 2024.

“Ivanka pulled Donald aside at a family gathering and had a heart-to-heart with him,” one source told OK!

“She said, ‘Please Dad, don’t do it.’ Ivanka detests the fact the spotlight is on her family and worries the impact it could have on her three children. Soon, the kids will be old enough to ask all about what’s going on with their grandfather. Ivanka cannot fathom having to answer their questions,” the source said. “It’s really sad.”

And while Ivanka and her stepmom famously don’t get along, the two were definitely on board about this. At the time, Melania also didn’t want her husband to run.

In the days following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, where thousands of classified documents were discovered, both Melania and Ivanka didn’t have good feelings about Donald Trump’s running in 2024, OK! noted at the time.

“Ivanka thinks the raid on their Mar-a-Lago home is just the start,” the source said. “As someone who has lived in D.C., and witnessed the viciousness of politics, Ivanka is convinced the establishment won’t rest until her dad is silenced.”

“She just can’t keep upbeat about the prospect of a 2024 bid (for the White House), especially with all that is going on,” the person said.

Ivanka hasn’t been wrong so far. Trump is now embroiled in serious legal scandals that may very well result in prison time for the former president and the former first daughter has been distancing herself from the battle. With her own marriage apparently in trouble, Ivanka is devoting herself to her young children, perhaps realizing those four years under her father’s thumb at the White House are years that she can’t get back.

And one source noted father and daughter had a “monumental fall-out” at one point.

“As you can imagine the death of the children’s mom was a unifying moment for all of the children. Ivanka was back in the fold after being out on the outs,” the source said.

“But it did not take her long to become disenfranchised and even ostracized within the family because of the whole movement going on inside the family: the boys are pushing for a redux, while the women are not.”

Her father’s legal battles have also put a strain on the couple’s marriage and there are rumors that she and her husband Jared Kushner may be headed for a divorce.

If that’s the case it may mean that dear old Dad is good at wrecking marriages. He’s caused plenty of trouble in his own marriage, Rupert Murdoch’s marriage to Jerry Hall, and now perhaps Ivanka’s marriage to Kushner.

But Trump is a parasite that sucks the blood out of everything he touches, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
