So, it appears that Donald Trump is trying to lure Kellyanne Conway to join his 2024 campaign team, sources are telling Page Six.

But it’s not clear if she’s going to jump back in. After all, she’s been working as a Fox News contributor for a while now. That hasn’t prevented Trump from attempting to woo her for the past 18 months, since he never takes “no” for an answer. And according to one source, “he credits her with helping him win the last time” in 2016.

Another source familiar with the situation confirmed that the former president has kept in touch with Conway, noting “He always appreciated so much and understood the value she brought to 2016. Without her, it wouldn’t have happened.”

The source also said there may be another reason why Trump wants to keep Kellyanne close — especially since she once chair a pro-Ted Cruz political action committee — he may want to prevent her from joining the enemy camp: that of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is considered to be his foremost opponent in the race for the GOP nomination.

“She was a formidable opponent [with Cruz], and [Trump] might want to lock her up and make sure she doesn’t go to DeSantis,” the source said.

However, another insider who’s well-acquainted with how Trump works said “Kellyanne has an excellent relationship with President Trump and his team … but she would be crazy to commit to a single opportunity right now. She is busier than ever with a lengthy roster of political, corporate, and media clients, not to mention offers from 2024 players and a big Fox News contract.” Page Six reported the contract likely extends through next year and “could expand in the months ahead,” per the source.

But that person also added: “Now that she’s divorced from Trump-hater George Conway, Trump feels she has less baggage. She never crossed an uncrossable line in her book [last year’s ‘Here’s the Deal’] and TV appearances.”

Kellyanne and George Conway were married for 22 years.
