Trump Throws Giant Hissy Fit Over Elon Musk on Truth Social, Calls Him a Liar … But ‘Who Cares?’

We can now add Elon Musk to the ever-growing list of people excoriated by Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform. Tuesday morning he lit into the South African billionaire over his use of government subsidies AND for voting for Joe Biden in 2020. Something that Trump claims Musk lied about.

Trump got all shrieky Tuesday, the morning after Musk was interviewed by Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday evening. It was during this interview that Musk admitted he voted for Biden, even though he wasn’t particularly a Biden fan, Mediaite reports. The neophyte Twitter owner told Carlson what kind of person should be president.

“I didn’t vote for Donald Trump. I actually voted for Biden,” Musk said. “Not saying I’m a huge fan of Biden because I would think that would probably be inaccurate,” Musk said and added:

“But, you know, we have difficult choices to make in these presidential elections. It’s not, I would prefer, frankly, that we put someone in, just a normal person as president. A normal person with common sense and whose values are smack in the middle of the country. You know, just you know, sort of the normal distribution.”

Trump was enraged by this and roared “I don’t believe Elon Musk voted for Biden, not for a minute! He told me that he voted for me, but who knows about that, and who cares?”

Well, obviously Trump does, otherwise, he wouldn’t be whining about it.

“Elon is just trying to make friends with the absolutely horrible Biden Administration because of all the government subsidies he gets, and all the permits he needs. His space company, car company, battery company, tunnel company, and even Twitter, which was illegally controlled by the FBI, need government HELP & SUBSIDIES. HE IS JUST ‘MENDING FENCES!” Trump fumed.

In recent days Musk has also been being pilloried on Twitter by the far-right, including Steve Bannon, Trump’s former campaign manager, and White House advisor, accusing him of being a pro-China “traitor” who is grifting Americans (funny how Bannon doesn’t seem to mind Trump doing this). Meaning of course, that Bannon is also complaining about the billions in subsidies that Musk receives from the U.S. government.

“At the same time, Elon Musk, who’s a traitor, not even an American, there’s another guy like Murdoch and like Soros, these guys, they get citizenship because they want to grift off the American people,” Bannon ranted in early April.

“They are not Americans. They do not have America’s self-interest. He’s over there in Shanghai with the CCP money opening up the new factories to take all the business from the one they quote-unquote, ‘We did in Texas,” he explained.

I know next to nothing about Musk, but I suspect that although he has more business acumen than Trump, it’s probably not much more. He took over Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter. But Tesla’s first quarter results have tanked over the past 24 hours, an experimental Starship rocket just exploded after taking off in Boca Chica Texas. Fortunately, no one was aboard the rocket, so there were no fatalities.

So I’m guessing he may need more government subsidies. You’d think Trump would cut Musk a little more slack since he’s pulled off some major grifts himself. I guess Trump believes it’s okay for him to do this, just not anybody else.
