Ivanka Trump is coming out of what has undoubtedly been a rough time for her. She’d been so close to her dad, Donald Trump during his administration, but in the fallout, amongst all his legal troubles, his eldest daughter has tried to distance herself. She keeps herself well away from political discussions and politically motivated family gatherings.

She has devoted more of herself to her young family and we’ve seen lots of photos of her and the young’uns and shots of family vacays, SheKnows reports. And while Ivanka is almost certainly enjoying this quietude, there’s also likely a calculated reason for distancing herself from her toxic father and other family members.

And a recent article from Insider, titled Call Her Ivanka Kushner features commentary from the noted attorney and legal analyst Andrew Lieb, who talked to reporter Katharine Tangalakis-Lippert about Ivanka’s efforts to re-brand herself. Much of those efforts are being devoted to her husband, Jared Kushner.

“My gut feeling is she’s a Kushner. And she’s not 100 percent with both feet in the Trump orbit,” Leib said. “Jared has his own world and his own orbit — and we all know about his father’s own issues, but it’s a lot more stable brand, a lot less visible brand. They’ve got a lot going on over in the Kushner clan, and she has her kids and her family. That’s a different world.”

Leib added this change may be the best way for her to separate herself from the Trump family.

The Kushner family may have their own controversies but these are on a smaller scale and they provide a perfect avenue for Ivanka to brand herself in a more subtle way.

“Right now? Most people are not going to care what she does, as long as her father is a viable candidate for the presidency, there is a significant portion of the population that will not have any interest in the reintroduction of Ivanka Trump into the general conversation,” Lieb said. “But at some point, he will no longer be a viable candidate, and that’s when I think people will start to pay attention and they’ll be a little more open-minded because the fear and the loathing that’s associated with him among a portion of the population trumps any of the positive things that she’s been doing.”

As most of us remember, there was a time when Ivanka was entirely wrapped up in her dad’s Presidential run and campaign. The author of The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life lost her brand, which included a number of brand deals, friends, and her status as a socialite took a hit. So this new move as a caring Kushner may enable her to further her separation from her controversial family.

Jared and Ivanka met through mutual friends and began dating in 2005. They briefly broke up, but patched things up and were married in late 2009. They have three children: Arabella Rose, 11, Joseph Frederick, 9, and Theodore James, 7.

Perhaps Ivanka has learned some painful lessons from her relationship with her dad. He turned on her when she supported former Attorney General Bill Barr’s claim that he didn’t find any instances of election interference during the 2020 election. As my dad used to say, maybe Ivanka found out that when you lie down with dogs you get fleas.
