‘Patriot’ Marjorie Taylor Greene Made a Pretty Serious Mistake in Her Memorial Day Tweet and People Can’t Stop Laughing

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, our favorite three/four-toed weightlifting crazy person, sent out a Memorial Day message on Twitter…but she made a very serious and visible mistake which is odd for a woman who claims to be as patriotic as one can be.

So let’s take a look at Greene’s message and see if you can spot what’s missing or wrong:

Hmmmm…as noted by Patriot Takes, a Twitter account that calls out right-wing hypocrisy and points out how dangerous the Republican party is becoming, pointed out that the flag has only 18 stars, which obviously is a big ol’ mistake, since our flag has 50 stars, representing our 50 states.

According to HuffPost, “our flag had 15 stars and 15 stripes at the end of the 18th and start of the 19th centuries. The addition of five states between 1797 and 1817 led to a flag with 20 stars and 13 stripes in 1818, which was quickly replaced by a succession of new flags as more states were admitted.

Antique American flag dealer Jeff Bridgman notes that “a tiny handful of 18 star flags exist,” which were created later to commemorate Louisiana’s statehood, given that it was the 18th state to join the union.”

As you’d imagine, Twitter was quick to give Marj a little history lesson:

And of course there were people who pointed out other things about Greene, like that she’s evil and doesn’t belong in Congress:
