Ron DeSantis Whines That Wife Casey Should Be On the Cover of All Fashion Magazines — But Isn’t Because She’s Republican

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is not particularly happy about the media’s coverage of Florida’s First Lady, Casey DeSantis.

Some reports have criticized Casey’s influence on her husband, leading him to complain about a double standard in the media. In a radio spot after he launched his presidential campaign, DeSantis said that if his wife weren’t conservative, she would be celebrated in the world of high fashion, Florida Politics reports.

“If she were a Democrat, she’d be on every fashion magazine … they would be making her to be the biggest deal. But because we’re conservative, we know that that’s not what happens. In reality, it will be the opposite, where they try to really attack,” DeSantis said on the Mark Levin Show.

DeSantis continued to drag the media, saying his wife is being attacked because “she is an incredibly effective First Lady.”

“She’s somebody that people look up to,” the Governor said. “Not just women, although many of the women in Florida who have gone through breast cancer look at her as a role model for how she handled it.”

“She’s made huge improvements in Florida by helping underprivileged people,” he went on. “And she believes in the values of the country and she can articulate that in a way that people really get excited about.”

Then he lauded her as his “best friend.”

“She’s a great wife, a great mother. But I’ll tell you when I’m out there on the campaign trail, there is nobody I would rather have by my side than Casey DeSantis,” he said. “And the corrupt media knows that. They know she’s good. So they’re going to try to fabricate stories about her.”

And given the fact that Melania Trump rarely accompanies her husband on the campaign trail, this would almost seem refreshing, and even a little heartwarming. Except for the fact that DeSantis is a monster, who is dedicated to ruining the lives of LGBTQ+ people in his state and has recently signed a law allowing Floridians to openly carry guns. The law will become effective on July 1, 2023.

That’s inviting another Parkland shooting but DeSantis doesn’t care.

And he thinks voters see through the media’s treatment of his wife and that they know “the only reason they’re going after her is because she’s effective.”

“They know when they’re doing the anonymous sources that it’s all fabricated BS. And so we take it in stride, we know this is just something that happens when you get into these things.”

But it’s a horrifying thought that this man is running. He’s Trump on steroids, especially since he’s more intelligent than Trump, and that makes him more dangerous. He’s clamped down hard on Florida’s schools, signing legislation to the teaching of critical race theory in school. A federal judge blocked Florida’s Stop Woke Act and the CRT ban but it’s only a matter of time before DeSantis and his fellow Florida Republicans give this another try. They want to turn Florida into a state full of dummies and they are succeeding.

Meanwhile, here’s a clip of DeSantis’s interview with Mark Levin.
