Trump Planning to Get ‘Revenge’ on Attorney Who Dared to Leave Legal Team, ‘He Put Everyone in a Very Bad Position’

Advisers for former President Donald Trump are losing it after one of his former attorneys revealed infighting among his legal team when he left his team behind. The advisers are so upset, in fact, that they are threatening to ruin this former Trump attorney’s reputation, Raw Story reports.

During an appearance earlier this month on CNN, defense attorney Tim Parlatore discussed the disagreements that led him to leave, and Trump’s advisers are ticked off that he disclosed longtime adviser Boris Epshteyn’s role in the coverup of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. They are out for blood because they feel Parlatore’s revelations could implicate them, The Daily Beast reports.

“He basically called into question the legal team’s ethical guidelines,” one source said after being briefed on the situation. “So everyone who stayed…he put everyone in a very bad position.”

During his interview, Parlatore said that Epshteyn “served as a kind of a filter” between the legal team and the former president, and added that he believes Epshteyn lied to the attorneys and to Trump. According to three sources familiar with the internal discussions, those at Mar-a-Lago perceived this as a betrayal.

“He puts himself out there, goes on TV and motherf*cks people,” one source said. “To say Boris is obstructing — who gets hurt there? Trump gets hurt there. That’s a serious, serious, true ethical violation. It’s a f*cked-up thing to do.”

Those within Trump’s inner circle wish Parlatore had remained quiet unless ordered to testify under oath by federal investigators, who have been questioning the defense team, even as they shared his apparent disdain for Epshteyn.

“I agree that Boris is an a**hole,” said another Trump lawyer. “But I’ve never seen anybody quit and go on TV and discuss attorney-client matters. That’s pretty crazy. Do I think it was completely inappropriate? Of course!”

Talking to The Daily Beast, Parlatore voiced surprise that his former colleagues would go after him, or see his commentary as a threat.

“Nobody has discussed this with me, and I hope any professional attorney would beforehand,” Parlatore said. “I am completely and totally confident with the ethics and everything I’ve done in this case — and my departure. I was talking about Boris’ obstruction of other attorneys doing their job. I didn’t implicate anyone in any wrongdoing.”

Trump and his presidential campaign were not happy about Parlatore’s comments, calling them “unfounded and categorically false.” Some of the former president’s allies are considering a bar complaint alleging this was a breach of attorney-client privilege that may drag on for some time behind the scenes, but one attorney acquainted with the goings-on countered that a bar complaint may actually free Parlatore from any additional attorney-client obligations, making it possible for him to reveal more scuttlebutt about the Trump team.

If that’s true, I’m all for it. The more dirt they dig up on Trump, the more evidence Special Counsel Jack Smith has to go on.
