Turns Out Trump’s Birthday Dinner Was a Very Small Affair With One Unexpected Guest

It looks like once again, Ivanka Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump, took time out of their busy schedules of avoiding Donald Trump to spend some quality time with him at his birthday dinner. Most surprising was Ivanka, who it seems has gone out of her way to stay away from her father, and has done everything possible to prevent being photographed with him.

Both women have been absent from the former president’s side at public events, but according to Page Six, Ivanka is still spending time with dear old Dad behind the scenes.

Melania, on the other hand, is probably still being Melania, even if she was on hand to wish him a happy birthday.

One source told Page Six that they observed Ivanka, her sons Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 6, Melania Trump and her son Barron, 17, having dinner with Trump at his Bedminster, N.J., golf club Wednesday, to celebrate his 77th birthday.

Ivanka has kept silent about her father’s latest indictment over classified documents — but she posted a birthday message to her father on Instagram, noting, “You are the most incredible father. Your love, energy and strength inspire me every day. Wishing you a year filled with the happiness you deserve.”

A whopping amount of us don’t believe he “deserves happiness” but of course, Ivanka would say that since she’s his daughter.

And rumors had been swirling that Trump wasn’t invited to his granddaughter (Ivanka’s daughter) Arabella’s bat mitzvah celebration which included Ivanka’s siblings Don Jr., Eric, and Tiffany Trump as well as their significant others — Kimberly Guilfoyle and even Don Jr.’s ex-wife Vanessa.

A source told Page Six that the ex-president was invited, but he was busy dealing with his legal problems.

But while Ivanka was posting photos of the big day to Instagram, she also added shots of Trump and Melania posing with Arabella at a horse-themed birthday and pre-bat mitzvah celebration.

After Trump announced his third White House run last November, Ivanka issued a statement on Instagram saying, “I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.”

Ivanka also issued a brief statement after her father was indicted last March on charges stemming from the Stormy Daniels scandal, noting “I love my father and I love my country. Today, I am pained for both. I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern.”

And Ivanka didn’t attend Trump’s post-indictment speech, but according to one source at the time, she managed to sneak into Mar-a-Lago to see her dad prior to his arraignment.

I’m certain that Ivanka is keeping a careful distance from her father because the Trump name carries a lot of weight with it. Especially now, since some of her dad’s alleged illegal malfeasance may taint her as well. After all, she may still face her own legal nightmare as New York Attorney General Letitia James continues to look into the Trump Organization, which was hit with a $1.6 billion fine last December based on its fraudulent business dealings.

She may be warming up to her dad a little more now but she’s undoubtedly still cautious.
