Trump Says He’s Not Very Mean to ‘Lowlife’ Biden Because He Has ‘Respect for the Presidency’

As he continues his campaign for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, Donald Trump took time out to appear on a conservative network, where he launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden, calling him a “very stupid person.”

Trump made the comment while being interviewed by Wayne Allyn Root of the right-wing network Real America’s Voice on Saturday. A clip of his comments was shared on Twitter by PatriotTakes on Sunday. The clip has since attracted more than 172,000 views as of Monday evening.

Trump still commands the strongest lead over his fellow GOP contenders in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination and Biden has announced his intention to run again in 2024. And he’s almost certainly going to be the Democratic candidate.

“I never went after Biden like I could have because of respect for the presidency,” Trump told Root.

“He’s a stone-cold crook. He’s a common thief,” Trump said. “He’s a lowlife and he’s a very stupid person. Beyond anything else, I mean, he’s a stupid person.”

Maybe Trump doesn’t look in the mirror as much as I think he does. Because there are scores of times when he didn’t act too intelligent either. I mean, staring at the sun in the middle of an eclipse is not particularly bright. Telling scientists that they might be able to kill the coronavirus by injecting people with light or disinfectants and subsequently leaving the hospital (briefly, after being infected with COVID) to hold a COVID parade and greet supporters isn’t a good look either.

I can’t picture Biden doing any of these things, can you?

But Trump didn’t leave things at that and played the victim again.

“Now, I say it because when they indict your opponent, which nobody thought was possible, especially on nonsense—you know it all comes under the Presidential Records Act.”

He spent a few minutes discussing the act before Root moved on to a different topic. As Newsweek notes, Trump has been indicted over his alleged mishandling of government documents.

By referring to Biden as a “crook,” Trump is probably referencing the investigation being conducted by the GOP-led House Oversight Committee into alleged corruption conducted by the president and his family, including his son, Hunter Biden.

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) chair of the Oversight Committee, and Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sought to obtain documents from the FBI in May, “alleging a criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.”

Those allegations against Biden centered on testimony from whistleblower, Gal Luft, who’s the co-director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security in Maryland. Comer previously described him as a “missing” witness in the Biden probe.

The tables were turned, however, when the Department of Justice (DOJ) unsealed an eight-count indictment against Luft in July, announcing he had been charged with acting as an unregistered foreign agent at the behest of China. He was also charged with violating U.S. sanctions against Iran, trafficking in arms, and making false statements to federal agents and other matters. Looks like Luft has been busy.

And the White House fired back with a statement issued to Newsweek in May.

“For going on five years now, Republicans in Congress have been lobbing unfounded, unproven, politically-motivated attacks against the President and his family without offering evidence for their claims or evidence of decisions influenced by anything other than U.S. interests,” White House spokesman, Ian Sams told Newsweek via the statement.

“That’s because they prefer floating anonymous innuendo, amplified by the megaphone of their allies in right-wing media, to get attention and try to distract and deflect from their own unpopular ideas and lack solutions to the issues the American people care about,” Sams said.

But while the Republicans keep digging, Trump is up to his eyeballs in indictments — in the documents case, he faces 37 criminal counts, with 31 related to withholding national defense materials. He also faces five counts related to concealing the possession of top-secret documents, and one count related to making false statements.

Then of course, Trump was indicted in April in Manhattan on 34 felony counts related to his role in a hush-money scheme to cover up an alleged sex scandal that could have derailed his 2016 presidential campaign. He also faces a host of other investigations around the country on state and federal levels.

And Joe Biden is the “stupid” one? Do I really have to say more?
