Trump’s Georgia Arrest Might Be ‘Last Straw’ for Melania Amid New Rumors of Divorce

They made it through the porn stars and the impeachment, but this could be it for the Trumps.

If you’ve had trouble understanding how Melania Trump could be so, well, understanding when it comes to Donald’s escapades, you’re not alone. The accusations leveled against over the course of his presidency — and his life, really — have been devastating.

But Melania has faithfully stuck by her man’s side.

Now, however, divorce rumors are swirling, according to the Daily Mirror. Her very noticeable absence from any sort of public appearances since his mugshot was released speaks to an embarrassment that Melania may find too much to handle. In fact, Melania hasn’t need seen by Donald’s side since a GOP event in the Spring. The only sightings of her have been when she leaves or returns to her Trump Tower apartment after visiting her hair stylist.

Louella Anderson, the co-founder of a dating site based on “personality type” called So Syncd, weighed in: “It is difficult to say whether or not Melania Trump will decide to divorce Donald Trump, as it is a very personal decision. However, it appears the couple don’t spend much time with each other and there have been numerous reports that paint them as having a strained relationship.”

“Strained” seems like such a soft word. We’ve all seen the videos and pictures over the years of Melania’s blank, straight-ahead stare as he speaks and her very obvious refusal to hold his hand in public when he’s clearly trying to hold hers.

Alderson tells The Mirror, “it may not be surprising if Trump’s arrest was the last straw.”

The last time the Trumps were photographed together, at an event at Mar-a-Lago in March, 2023.

It remains an “allegation” that Trump slept with adult film actress Stormy Daniels and then had his lawyer, Michael Cohen, pay her to stay quiet. Of course, we’ve seen the checks to Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, as well as three other women.

The fact that Melania was able to overlook her husband’s infidelity — even though, it was reported, some of it occurred while she was pregnant with their son Barron — was incredible enough. Most women would not have been able to stay after something like that.

But it could be that the shame of Donald having tried to outright steal an election and having overseen an actual riot at the Capitol in the pursuit of that endeavor is just a little too much for Mrs. Trump.

Personally, I would have left him long since. His lies have been so obvious over the years that it must have made her feel like a liar as well, defending him publicly and staying by his side.

Anderson’s remarks summed it up perfectly, though:

“Whatever happens, it’s clear that Melania is in a difficult situation and it’s clear that there are many factors at play. At the end of the day, only she can decide what she thinks is the best path forward.”

Whether that’s living away from Donald or divorcing him entirely before he’s potentially back in the White House, making everything exponentially harder for both of them, we’ll have to wait and see.
