CNN Pundits Mock and Have an Absolute Field Day With Trump’s So-Called ‘Doctor’s Letter’

It wouldn't be the first time he'd done something like that.

Okay, in case you missed it, Donald Trump posted a letter from his doctor on his Truth Social account, and let’s just say that it seemed a little hinky. Not only were there no numbers or anything quantifiable at all in the report, but it just seemed like the kind of stuff Trump would say about himself if he were smart enough to say that stuff.

The fact that he posted the letter on November 20, 2023 — Joe Biden’s birthday — wasn’t lost on anyone on the CNN NewsNight panel. Host Abby Phillip asked her guests whether they thought perhaps the entire affair was just “some great trolling by the Trump campaign.”

S.E. Cupp chimed in: “I mean, no coincidence – Joe Biden’s birthday. To be clear, he released no medical records, ok? That was propaganda. He released propaganda. We have seen no lab results. We’ve seen nothing other than whatever he told this doctor to say.”

Jay Michaelson was of a similar mind. “It encapsulates this whole election. On the one hand, Joe Biden? A little bit old. On the other hand, Donald Trump? A lying liar who makes up his own doctors’ reports and basically said, like, the cat ate my homework if that would get him an ‘A.'”

Honestly, there really isn’t much reason to give any credence to the letter, which is like a litany of talking points regarding Trump’s health that often aren’t even included in such a report. Mental health? Doctors’ notes just don’t cover that stuff. It was included specifically because Trump wanted it in the letter.

I’m certain also that Trump would like you to ignore the fact that Dr. Bruce Aronwald isn’t even an M.D. with any medical training. Trump couldn’t find an actual doctor who would lie for him like this, so he got an osteopath. In fact, he got an osteopath who works as a “concierge” doctor — someone you can just pay to see you before other people with bigger problems.

But it was the end of Aronwald’s letter that got me”

“It is my opinion that President Trump is currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for years to come.”

“Interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance,” for crying out loud. The fact that we know most of his meals have ketchup somewhere on them says otherwise, doc.
