Hmmmm…Did Ivanka Trump Tell Some Lies in Court Last Week?

Ivanka Trump took the stand to testify in her father’s $250 million civil fraud lawsuit last New York last Wednesday, but at least a few people aren’t necessarily believing what she had to say.

This is largely due to the fact that Ivanka seemed to be having some serious memory issues while under oath, frequently using variations of the phrases “I don’t know, “I don’t recall,” and “I don’t remember.” At least 30 times, Queerty notes.

Former Trump White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told MSNBC over the weekend that she doesn’t believe the former first daughter would have so much trouble remembering anything from the 12 years she worked as the executive vice president for development and acquisition at Trump Organization.

“I don’t buy that she doesn’t recall things,” Grisham said. “Ivanka Trump is a very, very smart woman and has an amazing memory. I used to actually always marvel about that when I worked with her.”

“So the talking about not recalling kind of rang a little not true to me,” Grisham explained. “But her behavior was exactly the opposite of her father’s and that is what I saw the entire was with them.”

According to NBC last week:

“Ivanka Trump appears to be very poised, friendly, and willing to engage with the attorney general’s office during her testimony, but is beginning to become more evasive with her answers.”

“She smiles and speaks softly, responding politely, but has started to repeat the phrase, ‘I don’t recall,’ in response to documents being shown to her, including letters and emails she wrote herself.”

“Chris Kise, one of the president’s attorneys, has also made several objections. Engoron questioned Kise if he was “going to object to every document.”

Yes, Grisham is rather, odious, but she definitely knows the Trumps quite well, since she worked in a variety of roles in the Trump administration — she went from White House communications director to White House press secretary, to the press secretary and chief of staff for Melania Trump.

And she stayed close to the Trumps until after the January 6 insurrection when she resigned and became an outspoken critic of the alleged crime family, Queerty reports.

As for Ivanka’s court appearance last week, Grisham offered sharp criticism, reminding people that she “tried to get out of doing it many, many times, stating that it was the middle of a school week and that was an undue hardship for her.”

When Trump’s eldest daughter finally did take the stand, Grisham said Ivanka “was poised” and “answered things, you know, in the way that she does.”

And that appears to be the tactic she used last week while offering vague answers to the January 6 committee last year.

The committee, in its executive summary of its lengthy year-and-a-half-long investigation, which was released in December 2022, the committee noted that Ivanka’s memory of the major events that happened just one year earlier was well, limited.

“Ivanka Trump was not as forthcoming as [Trump White House Counsel Pat] Cipollone and others about President Trump’s conduct,” the summary stated, alleging she exhibited “a lack of full recollection of certain issues.”

And the summary also noted that Ivanka seemed to have an awful lot of memory gaps and noted “Ivanka Trump’s Chief of Staff Julie Radford had a more specific recollection of Ivanka Trump’s actions and statements.”

A video of Ivanka arriving at the New York Supreme Court building became viral last week when she was met by protesters chanting “Fraud family,” and carrying signs that read “Indict Ivanka Trump.”

So now, after trying to avoid her day in court any way that she could, it turns out that she somehow can’t remember much. If that’s really true, then why was she trying so hard to avoid testifying?

Makes you wonder.
