Caitlyn Jenner Says That Transgender Women Aren’t Really Women — Including Herself

Do you ever have one of those days where you ask yourself “What the hell is wrong with Caitlyn Jenner?” I know that I regularly do although I also generally wonder the same things about Megyn Kelly and Melania Trump.

Caitlyn is one of the most famous transgender folks there are. She has identified as a woman in the past, but now she’s saying trans women aren’t “real women.”

She was recently interviewed by John Cleese on the U.K. TV show The Dinosaur Hour, where she also claimed President Joe Biden is wreaking havoc on women’s sports. Jenner went on to condemn “woke” attitudes, then complained she gets more hate mail for being a Republican than for being trans, The Advocate reports.

“I see these ‘trans women are real women,'” Jenner said. “No, you’re not. Okay, that’s the bottom line.”

Well, if someone wants to nitpick, a transgender man or woman’s genes aren’t changed. So on that level, their birth sex is still the same. That said, transgender women are still completely real. The road for people brave enough to undergo this life-changing experience certainly proves to me that they are the sex that they have become. And they have faced an awful lot of cruelty along the way and should be left alone to make their own decisions.

Things were fairly cushy for Jenner when she came out as trans in 2015. She’s said she lives her life as a woman and had all her gender markers changed on her identification documents. She also uses women’s public restrooms, but she considers herself “a trans person,” not a woman.

But she’s the one, not Biden, who’s wrecking women’s sports. Jenner is opposed to trans women playing in women’s sports. She’s gone so far as to found the Fairness First PAC to support this cause.

Jenner is likely playing the Biden blame game because his administration has proposed a rule that would classify categorical bans on including trans people in school sports as a violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. This law prohibits sex discrimination in educational programs that are federally funded. Jenner has gone full QAnon nutball here, claiming that if this rule becomes law, it will “kill women’s sports,” and spouted nonsense about this effort being backed by George Soros, a well-known liberal philanthropist who is a frequent target of right-wing conspiracy theorists.

It’s for reasons like this that I wonder what the hell is wrong with Caitlyn Jenner.

I’m including a clip of a rather quizzical-looking John Cleese interviewing her below.
