Ivanka Trump Responds to the Death of Melania’s Mother, Despite the Fact the Two Women Despise Each Other

The Trump family is currently mourning the death of Melania Trump’s mother Amalija Knavs, including Ivanka Trump, who shared a statement sharing her support for Melania and celebrating the life of Amalija and her “strength, and compassion.”

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Melania’s beloved mother,” Ivanka shared on X/Twitter, describing Amalija as “a remarkable woman who brought immense joy and love into the lives of all around her.”

She continued, “Her spirit, strength, and compassion will be profoundly missed but lives on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched so dearly. Rest in Peace Amalija,” Ivanka concluded.

Melania shared the news about the passing of her mother on Tuesday.

“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija. Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity. She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy.”

It was surprising that Ivanka made a comment about Melania’s mother, because Ivanka and her stepmother reportedly do not like each other at all. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff detailed in her book how petty Melania could be towards Ivanka. Winston Wolkoff detailed Melania’s rivalry with her stepdaughter in her book “Melania and Me” and said that she tried to block Ivanka from being in the best inauguration photos with a plan literally called “Operation Block Ivanka.”

“It was Donald’s inauguration, not Ivanka’s,” Winston Wolkoff writes. “But no one was brave enough to tell her that. Melania was not thrilled about Ivanka’s steering the schedule and would not allow it. Neither was she happy to hear that Ivanka insisted on walking in the Pennsylvania Avenue parade with her children.”

Apparently, Ivanka texted Winston Wolkoff a photo of President Obama surrounded by family at his swearing in, and wrote, “It is nice to have family with him for this special moment.” This kicked off “Operation Block Ivanka,” which involved rearranging everyone’s positions during the ceremony so Melania didn’t have to stand near her stepdaughter.

“Yes, Operation Block Ivanka was petty,” Winston Wolkoff writes. “Melania was in on this mission. But in our minds, Ivanka shouldn’t have made herself the center of attention in her father’s inauguration.”

Then of course there was that “look” that Melania gave after fake-smiling at Ivanka during the Republican National Convention in 2020.
