2024 Election

Former Trump Aide Gives Ominous Warning About Donald’s Behavior: ‘Lives Could Be Lost’

Former members of the Trump administration have an urgent warning that we should pay attention to: They fully believe a second Donald Trump presidency in the U.S. intelligence community could have deadly results, that could result in people being killed if he repeats his past behavior. Many people are unaware of the things Trump hopes to do if he is reelected that border scarily on George Orwell’s 1984.

Trump is, unfortunately, still the front-runner for the 2024 Republican nomination for president because he is adamant about seeking a second term in the White House. He hasn’t won enough delegates to be named the presumptive nominee, but he consistently polls ahead of all other candidates by a huge margin. Plus, he’s won every state primary race this year, and most believe his nomination is inevitable.

As his campaign keeps stumping, a steady stream of reports has emerged that reveal plans that he and his allies are engineering that would drastically reshape parts of the federal government. This includes hiring staffers vetted to see how loyal they are to Trump. The ex-president has also talked about something that’s really creepy: He wants to implement a “truth and reconciliation commission” which he asserts will feature a “10-point plan to dismantle the deep state.” Part of this plan includes removing employees from intelligence agencies.

“We will clean out all of the corrupt actors in our national security and intelligence apparatus, and there are plenty of them,” he said a year ago in March. “The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled.”

Politico, in a story published Monday, reports the situation gets even scarier from there. The plans are being drafted with key U.S. intelligence agencies in mind if we are all unlucky enough to get Trump as president again. Politico cites several former staffers who warn that Trump will “push even harder to replace people perceived as hostile to his political agenda with inexperienced loyalists.”

Politico interviewed 18 former Trump staffers and aides about their fears surrounding their former boss’s possible reelection. Dan Coats, one of the former staffers who spoke to Politico, served as director of national intelligence under Trump from 2017 to 2019. Trump and Coats were frequently at odds with each other because Coats frequently took different stances and we all know the former president can’t stand that. So Coats was let go and he has since emerged as a vocal Trump critic and he told the outlet he has grave concerns if he becomes president again because he has mishandled sensitive national security documents.

“People’s lives could be lost,” Coats told Politico, referring to sources who provide the U.S. with critical pieces of intelligence, according to Newsweek.

Of course, Coats was referring to allegations that Trump mishandled classified documents, which he wrongfully spirited away after leaving the White House and stored at Mar-a-Lago. He’s now staring down 37 counts, including 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, having been indicted last June.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and claims he had the authority to declassify the materials before he left the White House with them.

I’ll never understand why Trump believes this when it’s entirely clear they were supposed to go to the National Archives and Records Administration. This could be a dangerous delusion. Perhaps Trump really believes as president he can break whatever laws he wants. It’s completely understandable that people associated with intelligence agencies are nervous.

Trump is a risk the U.S. can no longer afford to take and I’m afraid we’re going to do just that.
